guess no Brokeback Mountain 2 :noway:

No, it is really sad, an incredible waste of life and talent now gone forever. As said before, the worst part is that a 2 year old daughter does not have her dad anymore. It makes you question the happiness of all these celebrities. I guess money really can't make you 100% happy.

Damn this is truly terrible my condolences go out to his family and prayers go out to his soul.

I agree Batman 2 is gunna be HUGE now and will have that Classic status as it will always be remembered.

They are saying it was accidental and he was sick with pneumonia at the time. What a shame.

Matty, your not kidding. The Dark Knight was going to be the biggest film this summer regardless, as it is supposed to be as good if not better than Batman Begins was. Ledger's joker was, according to people in the know, unbeleivably good, even beyond Nicholsons according to set reports. A lot of people will see this movie just because it was his last film, and in all likelyhood the role that would have made him a superstar. It's a shame, his legacy will be defined by this film, and the fact that it was his last.
You look confused...let me fill you in.

Yep definetly i think this film wouldve moved him up to superstar status, much like it did for Jack. Ive always been a fan of his and respected him for his willingness to take on the controversial roles such as brokeback and now the Joker, whos character is a complete maniac, many people wouldnt take those roles.

Man can you imagine if the joker dies in the film or if there is some scenes where you connect with the character it could get pretty deep.

I think it will be a very emotional movie because he really puts everything into the joker character and gives it his all.

Are you referring to Jack Nickelson?

RIP Heath,

Thoughts and prayers go out to family... I'm a big Batman fan and loved Batman Begins. I was looking forward to this movie and this will sort of cast a pall over it. Great to hear that his portrayal of the Joker is so good. Sad to hear it will be his last role.

Assuming he is, allow me to absolve him of the notion that Jack Nicholson was not a star before Batman. Jack was huge long before that movie came out.

However, I do agree that this movie would have boosted Heath's career big time and it's a horrible shame to see it end like this.

Yeh im talking about Jack Nicholson...I know he was big before batman but in my opinion, his joker was his greatest role and what put him into legend category. Joker connected him to all generations and he will be remember for ever for that role.

I just asked my little brother, hes 17, what he remembers jack nicholson for and he said batman...I said is that it? and he asked was he ever in any other good movies.

I think he wouldve been relatively forgetten if not for this role.

apparently Heath had trouble with insomnia and troubled thoughts since pouring his soul into the maniacal ways of the Joker character...kind of makes ya think.

RIP. Sad news indeed.

Nicholson was in Batman? news to me... but then I dislike Batman and haven't seen any of the movies... anyway, as a fellow Aussie I'm sure this will be big news here... RIP Heath.

Edit, found this...
HEATH Ledger recently said he felt good about dying, now that he was a parent, because he was alive in his daughter Matilda.

But at the same time, the Australian actor, who died in New York today, said he wanted to be around for the rest of the two-year-old's life.

Jack was making movies before your brother was born.

That movie may have re-introduced him to the current generation, but this was probably his most notorious role:

Heeeeeere's Johhhhnnnnnnnyyyyyyy!!!

His IMDB listing goes back as far as 1958. One of his biggest roles was One Flew and that was 1975.

** sorry for taking this so far off-course **

LOL i doubt it. The man was a legend for years, even decades before Batman and he didnt need Batman to reach "legend status". U need to do a lil research on stuff lol.

^^What the previous guys have said, Jack definitely didn't need Batman or anything after that to be legendary.
