There is logical and scientific data for validity of at least the Gospel accounts. Basically it goes like this:
The earliest manuscripts found in regards to the Gospel accounts begin at around 60 AD. That is roughly 30 years after the death of Christ. By that time, Christianity had become slightly more widespread and was heavily persecuted by many parties. Now, 30 years is not too terribly long. Conceivably, the people who actually witnessed the events were still alive when the written Gospels began spreading. As such, if anything in the accounts were not true, those who persecuted Christianity would have jumped all over it and written counter-proofs. As such, none are in existance. No one, or at least very few, denied the validity of the historical accounts held within the Gospels. Need I remind you, there would've been plenty of people who experienced said events. For example, the feeding of the 5,000. That's 5,000 people that could have said "hey, that never happened that way..." Since no one seemed to attempt to debunk the historical accounts, we can only assume that, historically, it is true.
As to the whole notion that the Bible was fabricated hundreds of years later, and it was just some monks who made it up, I disagree. There are literally thousands of ancient manuscripts, again, dating all the way back to 60 AD, of Biblical texts. On the other hand, there are very few manuscripts for works such as the Odyssey, or even Aristotle or Plato's works, sometimes fewer than 10. So, if you throw out the Bible because you think it was written years later, you would have to throw out every single classical Greek work.
