What do you guys ( objectively ) think Jamario's chances are at getting a spot on the All-Defensive team lists?
I think if he wasn't a rookie his chances would be a lot higher. But based on his defense this year, he still should be considered.
Thoughts?
Can Jamario Moon make the All Defensive - 2nd Team?

I'd argue that All-Defensive team appointments often favour statistical defenders, but even if that's the case, Moon probably isn't a strong enough statistical defender to get a nod. He's 'only' at 1.6 bpg (20th in the NBA) and 1.0 spg (not in the top 50).
To his credit though, his defensive stats according to 82games.com are very good. He holds opposing SFs to a PER of 15.5 on .420 eFG%, which puts him right up there with the best defenders in the league at that position.
While he probably won't get the nod, it's really nice to have a guy who can even be considered for All-Defensive Team honours playing for the Raptors. I can't remember the last time that was the case.

What Hendrix said.
Whether Moon deserves it or not, the forward position is by far the deepest defensive position in the league and rookies rarely get any defensive love. All-D team reps are earned over time.

Nurse is below average at best.
Masai is overrated.

Indeed. If we start this thread 2 years from now, maybe the answers will be different if he improves his game.

Exactally, he's gonna need a couple years to build his reputation as a All-NBA Defender and hopefully he'll have a statistical improvement in the blocks, steals, and rebound categories.
