Post#1 » by Jordan45822 » Wed Jan 23, 2008 5:51 am

lets not kidd ourselves because it might have to take someone with good value to add with Wallace to get rid of him. would you do that?

At this point, noone on our team should be untouchable. I am all for adding Deng, Gordon, or Hinrich with Wallace if it gets us something good in return.

Presumably we'd be getting an expiring? Even in that case I don't value the financial flexibility enough to just give away a worthwhile asset. We can always buy Wallace out or deal him for a similarly bad contract.

I would do it depending on return. if it is something like Wallace + Hinrich for Kidd + Collins or Deng + Wallace for Amare or Wallace + Hirnich for JO + Tinsley or something like that I would do it. but if it something like Deng/Wallace for Miles + Lafrentz + Frye type deal than hell no.

Trade him for Larry Hughes. Hughes has a slightly smaller contract, he's usually hurt so we won't have to play him, and plays a position of greater need. He could actually fit quite well next to Gordon.

trade him to Portland for LaFrentz. Its one less year and Portland gets a useful big. I have a hard time thinking either teams says no. Paul Allen will pay anything to win, and Wallace would at least allow them to ease Oden against the bigs out west for two years.

If all you want is to get rid of him, then waive him. Or lay a trail of headbands that lead to a bottomless well.

Paxson doesn't have it in him to waive or buyout Wallace.
