GM's run their operations in the strangest ways... With Bynum being out for 2 months I see the Lakers making a move (for Wallace or another BIG)..... Clev is going to get rid of Hughes imo....

I also think JO will probably get traded to the Nets somehow.

Indiana's not going to be a contender any time soon, i doubt they want to pay JO over 20 mil a season to be a borderline playoff team.

I think Wallace would do amazing in LA. Phil knows how to use players like him (Rodman), and he can concentrate all of his efforts on the defensive end. I think Wallace would thrive come playoff time starting in between Bynum and Odom.

A fairly ignorant post. Wallace doesn't have the offensive skills to play ANY position, but has spent at least half his career playing PF. His first few 50 win seasons in Detroit came with him at PF with Uncle Cliffy, Elden Campbell & Mehmet Okur playing center. The reason he was originaly listed as a center was to get him onto the All-Star ballot during a period when guys like Jamal Magloire were making the team.

Even once Sheed arrived it's quite arguable which guy was actually the starting center since the two were virtually interchangeable and often switched off on defensive assignments. The only thing that really distinguished Ben as our 'center' was him taking the jump balls.

This is something I've been saying for about 4-5 years now; because Ben is so heavily reliant on his athleticism he's going to decline more rapidly than traditional defensive centers. Guys like Mutumbo, Mourning, Kevin Willis and even Sheed can all play effectively well into their 30's or even early 40's because even if they lose a step they still have size.

When Ben loses a step, what does he have to fall back on? Moving him back to PF allows him to guard guys closer to his size on most nights, and in the right situation could potentially prolong his career.

It's fair to say that Ben's inability to play from the elbow is a larger deterrent in the Triangle than in some other system, but to flatly say the guy doesn't play PF is fairly erroneous. And as was mentioned, Phil managed to make it worth with Rodman just fine. He's a clever guy; I'm sure him and Tex could find some way to make it worth. (not that I'm advocating taking on the salary)

Bibby to Cleveland makes sense for Cleveland, but honestly, the Cavaliers have NO TRADING PIECES. Then when you factor in Bibby's return and Sacramento winning 6 of 8, they may have an outside shot at making the playoffs. I don't see it.

Cavs don't have the pieces to get Bibby. Gasol, O'Neal, Wallace, Hughes, etc. I don't see moving for various reasons.

Lots of talk this year (like most years), but little action. All we'll see are a few small insignificant trades.

I've got to say that as a Portland fan I'd hate seeing Wallace going to LA short-term. I could see him starting next to Bynum for the next couple of years and the two of them providing some pretty unbelievable interior defense and rebounding. Y'all would have to be prepared for Bynum's rebounding numbers to go down though! If I were Kupcake I'd make it happen. Kobe won't be able to play at this level forever and the next two or three years will be critical for this team.

For cap purposes, Kwame would have to be a big part of the deal. Radman would make sense as far as the money goes, but I'm sure Chicago would want some other form of compensation to take on that contract. Perhaps Kwame, Radman, and Critt for Wallace, Curry, and Duhon?

There is no way the Lakers will make a trade at all, just not their style. They have made 1 trade in the last 3 years mid season(Ariza) and i don't see them suddenly making another one this year either.

I think Andre Miller will be traded somewhere and Gasol might get moved but really the last few years only a handful of real stars get traded midseason.
