Semi-OT: What would you Offer for Adam Morrison

Post#1 » by DerrickRose23 » Wed Jan 23, 2008 4:53 pm

What would you Offer for Adam Morrison ? I think he has the chance to be a really good scorer eventually in this league, despite his low % last year (where he was the only real scoring option outside wallace). I think he is a good 3rd scorer who could really stretch defenses.

In terms of what i would give up?
Kapono straight up for him- Easily
Moon Straight up for him- Easily
1st rounder this year- easily.

The guy is as talented as they come in terms of pure basketball talent. His athleticism is underwhelming, but knowing how to play the game is very important, and i think getting him while his value is down would be a good way for the cats to make a push to make the playoffs and the raptors to acquire a really good scorer

Nothing.

Perhaps a very late second round pick and an ice cream cone.

If we still had Hoffa I'd trade him straight up for Morrison. At this point I think even Joey G is better... Granted Morrison has only played one season - but yikes was it bad!

Could this not have gone under your last thread talking of making a deal for Morrison/Tyrus??

I'll leave this open because it may be entertaining/could spawn a reasonable discussion. Let's keep personal attacks out of this please. Attack the post, not the poster. -Shaazzam

Trying to be realistic. What does Charlotte need? They need an inside presence, just like we do. No deal there. I guess we'd have to give up a small forward to make room, so JK fits the bill. I don't think we could give up Moon because he's one of only two shotblockers. Only problem is Moon would play the same position as Morrison.

There are some clever people there. I'm sure they could figure out a way to race them.

I wouldn't give the Bobcats herpes for Adam Morrison. Doesn't address anything we need. Kapono is a better shooter and Moon is a better defender and shotblocker. Plus, he looks dirty.

Kapono is a better shooter than Morrison and is trying to expand his game a bit. Losing Moon for Morrison is absurd.

We have no place for him.

Edit: Hey jamesd! We've missed your special brand of insight around here.

Definitely would not give moon or Kapono for Morrison. OR the 1st round.

I'd do the 2nd rounder for Morrison though. I don't get why we need Morrison in the 1st place. Kapono can shoot better than Morrison.
Moon does the rebounding and blocking, something that Morrison cant even compete with. Oh yea and that thing called defence. Either ways Morrison brings nothing to the table that we don't already have.

If Charlotte were smart they could find a homeless guy and trade him - he'd be confused for Adam Morrison - both looks and game wise.

Morrison runs around the floor awkwardly. Like Matt Bonner.

I would trade for him if the price was right, but I doubt we give him as much value as Charlotte does.

Assuming garbage could be sent either way to make it work id be willing to part with these movable pieces:

Kapono, Delfino, Garbo, Graham, Dixon, Martin

You can't write the 3rd overall pick off after 1 season. I'd give up Kapono or the 1st for him.

I don't even see where he'd get minutes.
