I'd blow it the **** up. It's quite clear this team isn't going anywhere and I don't think trading for a guy like JO is going to be the difference.

Move Kidd now while he still has some value. Look to trade one of Vince or RJ (I just don't think they compliment each other particularly well). I'd be more inclined to move Vince, but depending on what offers are out there RJ may be the better way to go. And of course try to unload as many bad contracts in the process as possible.

I wouldn't take a chance of having VC when your team isn't going for win now mode. VC in that situation is the reason the Nets were able to steal him.

I'd trade VC for some salary cap + prospects unless you can actually get a good player for him with a longer contract.

Kidd will opt out in the summer.

And there's your re-build. You still need to find a franchise player but hopefully you can get lucky in the draft or something. For now RJ will be your "man".

After VC trade for cap, and Kidd opt out. You really don't have anyone on the cap outside of RJ and Collins. And Collins is only one year left after this year. Could probuly maybe even be traded with VC.

Number 4 seems completely implausible. With that said, I'd probably go with option 2 or 3 - and build a legit contender around Kidd for the next couple years.

I would do the VC for Zach Randolph deal if that's available. JO (depending on the extent of his injury) would be my second choice. Maybe VC + fillers could get the Pacers to bite.

With an all-star caliber big, the Nets can make a run in the playoffs. But still falling likely to Detroit or Boston (like everyone else in the East).

If a championship is the Nets' ultimate goal, and I'm extremely doubtful that the 'Big 3' gets them there, so rebuilding is the only option.

Best case for the Nets is to call up the Lakers and hope that a JKidd deal could pry an injured Bynum way - still, a bit of a long-shot.

And also get rid of VC and Kristic, and start building around RJ.

First of all, what all-star bigs will be available for VC or Jefferson?

I would do this.

Trade as many older players as I could for picks and youth. Kidd, Carter and Jefferson will NEVER win. They are good on paper, but that's it.

Send Kidd to Toronto for Bargnani and filler
Send Carter to somewhere for youth
Send Jefferson the Heat for Cook and filler

He must be since he posted it three times.

They should trade Kidd and Carter for younger players and draft picks.

they should have traded Jefferson and Krstic in the off-season for an all-star caliber big..now, I don't know what they should do..I think they are waiting to see where Krstic is before they make a trade..

The only person I would currently desire to trade right now is Richard Jefferson. His stock value is at an all-time high, which means we'll be able to get a decent return for whoever we trade him for. If the Nets traded Vince Carter or Jason Kidd, they probably won't be getting an adequate return simply because the team is underperforming, and other teams around the league will demand too much. And here lies my problem: should the Nets simply keep the team they have, maybe add a role player or two and hope that Krstic can return to form? Or do they accept the fact that they'll be receiving less than they're giving and slowly begin the rebuilding process? It's hard to figure that one out. A HEALTHY lineup of:

PG: Kidd
SG: Carter
SF: Jefferson
PF: Sean Williams
C: Nenad Krstic

can easily cause upsets in the playoffs. But they need to discover a level of tenacity that they haven't possessed once yet this year. It's truly mind-boggling.

The last thing I would do is trade RJ. Rebuild around RJ and use Kidd and Carter to get a big man or draftpicks.
