Well of course winning changes things but it is always aggrivating to see your team give up offensive rebound after offensive rebound. I don't know what the issue is but the Blazers really need to do something about their rebounding issue and I feel that przybilla is one of the few consistent answers that the Blazers have in the rebounding catergory. Oden will fill that need next season but as for now, I think Przybilla needs to see more action.
let me try again....offensive rebounds are a fact of basketball life. Portland had exactly as many as NO tonight. There was a little flury of about 4 offensive rebounds in the 4th Q for NO, but Joel was in the line-up for 2 of them. He wasn't making a difference tonight.
Portland gave up 12 offensive rebounds and that is actually under their average of 12.6.
Yes portland is weak at rebounding, but they are strong in some other areas. And tonight, when Joel was playing, Chandler was just camped out in the paint. Joel is not threat to score and chandler was cheating off of him, clogging the middle, and jumping screens and picks. That's what Howard did in the Orlando game. At least Aldridge and frye can draw those types of players 2 or 3 steps further away from the basket.
You could make a case that Joel should have played a bit more in the Atlanta game, tonight....no.
