Do the T-wolves have the Suns number?
I don't understand why lotto teams always manage to beat the Suns. It's disgusting.

That's not always for your information but bad teams are always goin to give their best vs elite teams but it doesn't excuse the Suns lack of energy
Its called rebounding. Minny doesnt have a lot of talent so they listen to their coach. Coach says rebound everything against Phoenix and you can beat them. Minny rebounded nearly everything and we lost.
Amare shot 13/14 and had 29 points.
Nash had 15 assists.
We shot 50% and held Minny to under 50% shooting. So what the hell gives you ask?
Rebounding. Plain and Simple.

^^What he said. It's amazing we only lost the game by 10. Obviously, when you're getting out-rebounded like that, you know the energy level of the whole team is low, very low. They have flat feet, no hustle, nothing. I know they're on a b2b (thank god there's no b2b in the playoffs) but that's just tell you how old this team are becoming. Check our record, I think, including this loss, we're 5-7 on the tail end of a b2b.

Well, you can say that about Jefferson too. He can't hold Amare either. He at least has to man up and stop his man once in a while and have some pride.
Diaw did not do well again, and he came off the bench. I think MD's short comings as a coach is on everyones game plan. Rebound, and you have a chance tp beat this team.
Freakn put Diaw back in the line up, and bring Hill of the bench MD!

the Team's inability to rebound is the team's problem. I already know MD limitations as a coach but fact still remains the players in the frontcourt and the backcourt are not working together when it comes to rebounding. The fact that minnessotta shot 50 percent doesnt help either. There are lots of weaknesses on this team and it hasnt been adressed or improved upon the last 3 yrs. I blame MD for the lack of improvement and I also blame the FO for not making moves to adress or at least hold these guys accountable for playing like crap on the boards.

^^Rebounding does hurt us, but let's not forget about their disappointing TOs. The Suns committed 16 TOs, many in the first half where they fell behind 15 points. The Wolves scored 23 points off the Suns TOs, the Suns scored 14 off the Wolves TOs and we lost the game by 10. You do the math. When you're turning the ball over like the Suns did tonight, combined with their 26 rebounds to their 48, you don't win ANY game playing like that.
We don't need to win the rebounding battle every time, most of the time when we keep it close or respectable, we will win. Again, we may not have the size to win the battle of the boards, but they DO have the talent to control their turnovers. In this game, the Suns didn't just get beat by the T-wolves on the board; they further self-destructed by not taking care of the ball. And the TO meltdown occurred most in the 2nd quarter, when the Suns were outscored 33-23.
I know, it's a 2nd game of a b2b, but it's a weak excuse - we're a old team that plays an up-tempo style, and we just don't have enough gas in the tank to play b2b anymore - that's fact. We used to be pretty good on b2b, not anymore (thank god there's no b2b in the PO).

Just a quick correction: The Suns are actually 5-5 in the 2nd game of b2b sets. They have 13 losses so far this season so 5 of those are in the tail end of b2b's (10-0 in the first game of b2b's).
Again, I'm not making pathetic excuse of losing this game, it's a FACT that we don't have enough gas in the tank to win b2b anymore like we're used to. We're probably starting to show our age (oh yea, I heard the Spurs sucks on b2b too...).

We really need an inside player who can rebound and defend. We absolutely suck inside. AMare is a great player but he can't defend guys like Bogut, Jefferson, David West, Duncan,... Look at the numbers they put against the suns! I would even give up Marion if necessary, cause this team is not gonna get it done. We will make a run in the playoffs but certainly not all the way....

I'd love to see our all-time record versus Minnesota.
We are actually 47 - 26 all time against Minny. FYI...

That's because D'Antoni's philosophy is inherently flawed. When teams shoot, nearly 4 of the Suns players are already streaking upcourt in anticipation of the fast break. None of these guys know how to box out either. I can't even keep track of the amount of times Amare was attempting to box Big Al Jeff out, but wasn't keeping an eye on the basketball. What good is that gonna do?

Yea, but you can't have it both ways. For our guards, we need them to leak out. Nash has to stay back to get the outlet pass from our big, so hes around the FT/paint area anyways. If he has a shot at the rebound he can go for it. But while hes doing that, you have to have guys down court because Nash gonna run with the ball almost instinctively. If Raja is crashing and doesn't get the board, hes behind the play and might not get that open look from 3 or at least help spread the floor for Nash to get into the lane. So really, you just can't have it both ways. That's our system. If we had a slow-down, walk it up offense, you could send all 5 guys crashing, but that's not our system.
Now if you remember, when we still have Q and JoeJ, and the preMF Amare, we don't really need all guards to leak out per say, our fast break was most effective and our rebounding was kept very respectable. Q and Joe are good rebounder at their size so it was our bigs that leak out and guards follow on the secondary break for a 3. Basically we had Shawn, Q and Joe, all three guys were able to play multiple position and crash the board, and they shoot the 3 well. Good old days...
I looked at the numbers last night, and Boris is really only about 1 rebound off his pace from 05-06 in relation to his minutes per game. And thats including the terrible start. I have faith.
