Every team wants championship.
Lots of teams are in the playoffs most of the time and still doesn't have the title. Lots of teams are happy for 55 or more wins even though they will not go farther in the playoffs. But there are teams build for the playoff like the Spurs. For some owner its just the revenues their team brings and making their fans happy seeing their team in the playoffs most of the time. But i will exchange all of those for a short success with a championship.

I didn't know that many people knew about ST, until I started to read it around these boards.heat4life wrote:What if ESPN.COM never buys SportsTalk.com ....... would RealGM be who they are today...

SportsTalk was HUGE... then ESPN bought them to get all those users to sign up to their "Insider". Most of the users who were too cheap to pay for posting came here to RealGM. At that time RealGM was only popular because of their trade checker. Not many users. Now we are one of the most popular sports websites in the country.... Pound your chests (or man boobs) fellas .......

We would have been better than the Wizards. Possibly made a finals by now or even won a 'chip, have a bright future (would have Jordan Farmar or equivalent draft pick + Cook + Simien). Probably would have moved Jones or Grant when they were expiring for a star player. We'd be in contention right now.
But our team won a championship.
The worst thing that came from the Shaq trade IMO, was the change in attitude in Wade. Shaq's 'She'll be right' attitude really has rubbed off on Wade unfortunately. We'd probably have a hungrier Wade if Shaq wasn't here.
I agree with that lineup, but with Haslem instead of Grant as thebackup PF. I'm also not sure we would have paid big bucks to retain Alston at the pg position, but it'd be impossible to know who we would have there.
That team would have gotten to the East Finals, maybe an NBA Finals but no title. I still do the trade 10 out of 10 times.

I'm not sure if anyone else has pointed this out, but Sportsplaya you need to get your facts right. We drafted Dorrel even before we traded for Shaq.

I actually noticed too but I just felt bad on pointing out a bad fact on a post not worth discussing.......again.

I agree 100% 1 is a hell of lot better then NEVER. Well put FlaMosesFlaMoses wrote:I posted this before on this subject matter:
14 of the 30 teams in the league have NEVER won a Championship. Ask any of them if they would do the Shaq trade.
It has also been over 20 years for 8 of the 16 who have won and for 6 of the 16 its been over 30 years! Ask them if they would do the Shaq trade.
So ask yourself again, Would you do the Shaq trade? No brainer, YES!
If we didn't do the Shaq trade, we would have had a really nice team now, but no guarantees of a championship. My guess is we wouldn't yet.
Did we get lucky versus Dallas? Maybe. But it still says NEVER next to Dallas's name on the NBA Champions list.
