Oden is so unknown right now, it is really hard to tell. Howard is incredibly good, so if oden is better, its not going to be by much. I would trade oden for howard easily right now, as I would prefer the proven player. But i do think that it is hard to say that Oden wont be that good. We just dont know.

The only indication that we have is that Oden was considered the best big man prospect to enter the NBA in a decade. Since Howard entered the league wthin the last decade, that means he was drafted with the expectation he would be better than Howard. Until he proves differently, I wouldn't trade him for Howard. I'm fully confident that he'll come back healed and dominating, just like he says he'll do.
