Custer's Last Stand (our next ten games)

Post#1 » by paulpressey25 » Thu Jan 24, 2008 1:55 pm

For those outside the US who need the reference to the title:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_ ... le_Bighorn

Here are our next ten games:

1. Indiana at Home
2. At Toronto
3. Wizards at Home
4. At NJ
5. At Philly
6. Houston at Home
7. At Memphis
8. At Dallas
9. Knicks at Home
10. Clippers at Home

Those ten games aren't that tough relative to what we just finished. We need to come out of that stretch at least 6-4 to have any chance of the "Champagne Bottle playoff run" then in March/April.

Otherwise on February 12th, I'll be taking nominations for our New Team to adopt for the playoff run post All-Star game.

Custer was at the Alamo right?

I agree with your assesment, we need at least, at least, a 6-4 in that stretch, otherwise it's tanking mode all over again.

6-4 looks about right.. although 7-3 is possible depending on which team shows up.

5-5 is the best case scenario imo.

I'll be happy with 3-7. The schedule gets a lot easier in March.

I agree. The Raptors, Rockets and Mavs are all clearly better than the Bucks and while the Nets aren't playing that great, I can't see the Bucks winning in New Jersey. That's four losses right off the bat. Memphis is the game that could go either way in my opinion.

We simply aren't a good team. Not even a decent team. There are maybe 4-5 teams in the league that we "should" beat on any given night, and we've already lost to two of them (Seattle, New York).

you know, if Custer had started out that year with a TANK mode, he would have done much better. he would not have had to make a last stand.

Patton started out by tanking his first couple of years, and he fared much better in the end run. Didn't patton beat a german who was also tanking?

you are talking about the Spurs, right Jerrod? the Alamo, Spurs and winning streaks all seem to go together.

Custard's last stand was at a Tastee Freeze before Dairy Queen's soft serve won our hearts.

With 5-5 in these 10 games, we are going to the playoffs.

And I'll be sleeping with Jamie Lynn Spears and Emma Watson tonight and won't have to sign up as a Child Predator.

Both have about the same chances of happening.

the biggest problem is that the Bucks are thinking just like you posters. before making any type of a change good or bad, they want to play another 10 games and hope they do allright. that was the same problem the brewers had last year. they hoped that their middle relievers would correct their problems, and then when they decided to correct the situation, it was too late. I realize the brewers were in the pennant race until the last week. but if they had acted faster to acquire middle relief, they would not have lost their lead.

I realize that Kohl doesn't want to tank another season away. But if he has any notions of making a trade to improve this team, he needs to make it now and not wait until the trade deadline. if he waits until the deadline to make a trade, he will be wasting the next 10 games, and his improvements may lead to wins but not the play-offs. The worse place to be is the team that just missed making the play-offs.
