Well, the way the C's have been rebounding lately, I think Al is going to have a pretty good game. I just re-watched the Philly game. Yikes. I wouldn't be stunned by a loss, unlikely as it is.

C's are in a slump right now. Maybe a loss to the Wolves would focus them up a bit.

GO AL!

AL at C and Gomes at PF though... that's a little small. Who is gomes going to guard? KG? Perk?

i agree...the twolves will be very very good in a year or two, assuming that foye gets healthy & they keep the young nucleus of players they have, plus a top 3 pick next year. they will be CRAZY good in the next few years. and like most here, they are also my favorite wester conf. team.

with all of that said, i hope that KG goes off. he is downplaying the matchup 100%, & its prolly true. he could care less that he's playin 'sota. its just another game & the only player he really played with thats still in 'sota is madsen, so its not like he still has a lot of guys he played with his whole career.

Usually when I post in the Boston gamethreads, i'm rooting for the C win, but two times a year i'm going to have to root against you guys, and friday is the night.

I hope KG goes for a quadruple double, but Wolves win. :)

I think he mentioned today that he won't have any emotion come Feb 8th which we all know is not true. Not when 18k+ will be giving him a crazy ovation. Tomorrow won't be a big deal for him but i think come Feb 8th, things will be different.

And Antoine/Juwan Howard's contracts come off the books in 09/10,

If I were the Wolves, I'd consider trying to use Foye to trade Foye/Antoine for expiring contracts. Then, they probably have close to 12 mil in cap room they can use to try and make a max offer type run at a guy like Jose Calderon, and can draft a Center or what not.

Piece, Ray, and Telfair are gonna have big nights. Al will get his and so will some others, but we gotta put Perk or BBD on him all night long.

No need, Walker has a team option. Everyone bashed Riley for that trade and contract. But he did well with the team option and the insurance coverage on it. It was a good one for what he wanted.

And all the money there getting for cap relief from Ratliff after this year is essentially going to be taken by AL's exstention.

So they have a decent amount coming off this year, and again next year after the 08/09 season they have 9 mill off from Walker, and 7 mill off of Juan Howard. That and at that time they can choose wich of the young celts they want to keep besides AL since they'll be expired.

I am really looking forward to Al-Perk matchup. Best friends going at it, that will be interesting.

I am also expecting a big night from Telfair, he will burn Rondo on offense with his penetration.

This will be a special game. Wolves are like mini celtics you just have to root for them outthere in the west...

WHAT?? Why on earth would we trade one of our core young guys with boat loads of talent to cut ONE year off of Walker's contract? (He's not guaranteed after next season). And WHY would we offer a MAX contract to Jose Calderon? He's good, no doubt, but he's not LeBron Freaking James!!

Sorry, back on topic. I can't wait for the game. It seems as though one prerequisite of being a Minnesota Timberwolf is that you were at one point a Boston Celtic. Unfortunately we traded Davis, Blount and James away (well...actually quite fortunately, I'm glad they're gone). But we did get Walker in return. Heck even Foye is technically a former Celtic.

A tip of the hat to your team as I take my leave.

Al Jefferson, he has gotten away from Glenn, and is showing how great he is.

Gerald Green, he is still a great prospect. The coach in Boston just killed him because he wasn't from Chicago. If Green was still on the roster the Celtics would have easily beaten the Raptors, as Green had their number.

Randy Foye, a Celtics draft pick so gets a mention. Which also means the great Roy gets a mention.

Ryan Gomes, maybe a good player on a bad team. But not bad for a second rounder. But really, he is no Big Baby who is a much bigger draft steal in every way.

Antoine Walker, he won a title and nobody else on the Celtics can say that, except for Walker's former teammate Posey.

Theo Ratliff, an injured loser, and a union troublemaker, he gets millions of dollars for not playing.

Sebastian Telfair, he might be evil.

Minnesota are 2 and 0 against Phoenix, and 5 and 34 against the rest of the NBA. A crazy stat, but maybe it just means they can beat a team that has Marcus Banks.

The Celtics might want to see if Marko Jaric can be acquired cheaply, he would be a very good player to have on the roster as he can play three positions. Doleac would be useful with his outside shot. Chris Richard might be good to have in the playoffs, to push people around in the paint.

Good luck to Jefferson and Green. A big hello to Walker and a polite welcome to Gomes.

Telfair, I hope Stern bans him from the NBA, or that Telfair tries to take a charge from Big Baby. Big Baby!

I think Perk is actually the only player in the league who know exactly how to guard Big Al. Perk also said that he has some offensive moves from Big Al. o they know each other pretty well.

I'm just giddy about this game and so happy I'm going tonight. I'm pretty psyched to see Al, Ryan, and Twoine but could really care less about the other guys.

I think the Perk/Al machtup is going to be key. I do see the Celtics winning this pretty easily though. C's by 14.

I was reading some interview with Big Al or watching some interview with him or something, but anyway I remember him saying that he's looking forward to bringing out new moves against Perk that he hasn't used on him before, so that should be interesting, but I'm sure Perk know most of Al's stuff. Knowing doesn't mean he can stop it, though, woot woot! Go Al! C's will win, though...

You guys are worrying a lot..

Your team has the best record in the NBA.

Minnesota has the worst record in the NBA.

They most likely will win but it's just because they haven't been playing well lately and we just beat the Warriors and Suns right in a row.
