wade's stats would be better if heat had a better record , u have any idea how many times wade had to sit the entire 4th quarter due to a blowout ??

that has nothing to do with this discussion..ur arguing a moot point

Heat might suck but Wade definitely deserves that spot.

I'm still amazed at Allen Iverson getting the starting nod. Shame on the voters.

AI's been pretty fantastic this year. I'd give Paul and maybe Nash the nod over him, but nobody else.

The Nuggets don't suck defensively. They just play a very high tempo game which gives them (as well as their opponents) many possessions and therefore more opportunities to score.

To D-Whistle: Would you rather have T-Mac start instead of AI?

Baron better make it. He's a top 10 mvp candidate and has destroyed the entire spurs and suns teams.

so from your statement

BIG AL should be in the ASG cause he made amare look like a clown on defense when playin against him....
AJ:"I'm Western Conference," he said. "I'm Popovich. I'm for him, for Texas and for the Spurs."

I'm disappointed in this thread. It could have been a lot better. I think I would have been better off not reading it. I mean, I don't mean to hate or anything, but it was just piss-poor.

Shame on all of you.

For the record, Denver has the 6th best defensive efficiency in the league right now, and they are almost 7 points better per 100 possessions on defense when he's in than when he's out. Were it not for KG, he'd be my runaway choice for DPOY.

I don't have a problem with Yao as the starter, but I'm really hoping Camby makes the all-star team.

Paul or Nash should of got AI's spot... AI on the reserves likely anyway.

Other than that, I'm basically fine with it.

Which is basically irrelevant for the playoffs unless they're playing another fast-paced team. The game slows down, there are less possessions, and defense, rebounding and half-court offensive execution are emphasized. Denver relies on AI/Carmelo, fast-breaks, and easy baskets to play well. Getting into a half-court game is not where they play consistently, and they haven't proven to consistently win games with their defense. Generally they can't dictate the tempo over a 7-game series. Not being even an average 3PT shooting team, and lacking discpline defensively on going for steals and blocks, don't help also. They rely on creating turnovers as one of their few main ways to score. You can have that as one of the consistencies of the team, but not relying on it so much to be successful. That's not being equipped enough to advance deep in the playoffs or win a title.

In the playoffs, you're of course not playing the league (which applies to Denver's pace and success), or some lower-level team - you're playing one of the top 8 teams in the conference for a 7-game series in an enhanced environment. And for Denver, a team that is right there with them or better.

Denver needs to get more balanced on both ends of the floor, to take that next step as a contender.

At least Camby is not stupid enough to say himself what Charles said or he'd be at risk of becoming Dampier v. 2.0.

Barkley is a joke
he picked Paul over Nash because New Orleans got the best record in the West
but just got told Phoenix actually got the best record now
then he said Nash is playing with 2 all-stars
why pick Camby over Yao then?
isn't Camby playing with 2 all-stars?
Yao is leading his team without T-Mac
give the guy some credit
Barkley just hate the Rockets
