he needs to get a lot bulker to live up to any Rashard Lewis comparison... though I guess Rashard is only about 5 pounds heavier...anyways, GG is more athletic than Rashard Lewis and two inches shorter, and he just doesn;t strike me as Rashard Lewis.

I think I'd go with Jason Richardson if I had to come up with a comparison

He is every bit of McGrady in terms of physcial ability, but he just has no feel for the game and hasn't seemed to progress at all since he came into the league. Although they always write some fluff peice about him traning his butt off down in Houston with John Lucas I have to question his work ethic because you'd think he would've showed at lesat some progress by now.

Maybe one day he'll put it together, but its become pretty clear why he slipped to 18th in the draft that night.

He has no handle what so ever thats why the Lewis comparison fits.

I was thinking in terms of his physical attributes and body comparison, but I see where you're coming from.

His handle is pretty bad, still don't think he's in a category with TA yet though.

The Lakers should sign him to the Max.

Right now his confidence has to be pretty low. He might be a different player if he could get some of his confidence back. He seems to me to be one of those players who needs to have his ego constantly stroked, or at least to feel that he is one of the big men on a team.

His best skill is his jump-shooting. When he is on, he is fantastic, with a very quick, high release, a nice arc on the shot, and great accuracy. His worst skill is his dribble. I would compare him to Ricky Davis, although he is a more fluid player than Ricky Davis--he doesn't look as herky-jerky. Another negative is that he does not have a lot of upper body strength, or at least he didn't when he was here. That made it hard for him to take it to the rim when he was here unless he had a clean look, because he would just get knocked sideways or down by the first big that ran into him. He also has a low BBIQ, as a lot of people have mentioned.

I don't know, he might do well if he was given some minutes and responsibility. Coaches have been afraid to do that because of his negatives, but I think that he might respond well to a little bit of trust. If Kobe saw him as a scrub, then I don't think that he would do well in L.A. But if Kobe took him under his wing (a long shot), then he might develop. Kobe might see the utility in a guy that can really get hot stopping and popping from 18', and decide to work with him.

Gerald's problem still has more to do with were he is than who he is. There are plenty of guys who have low bbiq's and are one dimensional players who get plenty of burn in this league. Gerald is a very young raw player who keeps ending up in situations were that is the last thing the team needs.

The kid can flat out score and he is actually starting to rebound the ball, he is actually avg about the same reb and asts as last season in half as many mins. He isn't a complete player but if you gave him 10-15 shots a game he would score the ball. The Wolves made a rash decision on the kids option and now they are kind of between a rock and hard place. He is raw and needs mins to develop but he might a viable option at the SF spot but they have Brewer who is not even close to ready for mins but they invested a lottery pick in.

Hopefully for Gerald he can go somewhere else for the last couple months of this year and get consistent mins and shots. Hopefully in a veteran situation and maybe show whether or not he can be a good enough scorer to live with his flaws.
