the spurs have a rep for being a good defensive team so they are allowed to foul more. been that way for several years, why even worry about anymore?

I guess I understand why people complain..but that's just how it is..I used to complain when I was younger, when the Lakers would get a lot of calls based on reputation during the 3-peat..superstar calls are a significant part of the NBA..I don't see why anyone would think the NBA favors a team that doesn't do anything significant for them in the ratings though..

worse teams get **** on all the time..good teams get calls, like the Nuggets fan, and the Warriors fan pointed out on this page already..

****, just last week I was watching Minnesota vs. Denver..Camby clearly hit the ball out of bounds, but they said Minny hit it out..resulting in a Big Al techincal foul that tied the game IIRC, and led to Denver winning the game..

good teams + fast paced sport with no challenges makes the NBA hard to ref..I personally think refs get too much blame..it's not like any of us would ref the game better..

I'm not so worried about the calls teams like SA and Boston get - I usually get more frustrated with the NO calls they get away with - on defense.

Playing those teams (as well as Detroit and Cleveland) will mean a physical game and the refs have to give the opposition the same leeway for being as physical as they do for teams that have a defensive "reputation".

The Spurs don't get nearly as many calls a few other teams in this league.

I'll let you all guess which teams those are, although it should be pretty obvious.

To clarify, I dont really think the spurs get "more calls." I just think that they are allowed to hit and grab people on defense more than other teams are due to their reputation. I'm sure you could pinpoint certain areas of the game where other teams get the benefit of the doubt moreso than the rest of the league.

The fact is you lose if your opposing team begins to play physical and you continue to play like a pussy. When you go to Boston or Texas you have to play physical in order to gain respect of refs.

Thats easier said than done. if you have a rep for being softer the refs will call physical plays against you that the defensive team can get away with. same happens at home with offensive teams.
