Thanks, good read. A few comments:

"I think people misconstrued what everything was about," Bryant said. "It wasn't about the team. It was about a lot of stuff going on."

Bryant did not specify the "stuff," but regardless, it no longer exists

I think the author is forgetting Kobe specifically called out Jerry Buss (and implicitly, Jim Buss) for losing his trust.

1. Being blamed for the Shaq departure
2. being told that the Lakers wouldn't rebuild while Phil was told otherwise
3. Lakers ignoring his lobbying for better players

The emergence of Bynum, Farmar, Turiaf and the signing of Fisher are keeping Kobe's hopes up.

Ironically, in the past, our youth and our veterans (Divac, Mckie, Jackson) failed us.

Now, our youth and veterans are forming the core of the team, while the high-paid, prime-of-their-careers players (Odom, Kwame, Radmanovic, Walton) have disappointed.

Go figure.

One of those guys are going to be gone by next season maybe two but either way we'll rid ourselves of one.
