Anthony Parker in January

Post#1 » by Kosta » Sat Jan 26, 2008 1:15 am

15.7 points, 4.1 boards, 2.8 assists, 1.3 steals on 50% from the field, 83% from the line and 47% from 3.

I don't know if it was that lingering groin injury that had him start off so slow this season, but he's playing just as good or better than he was playing to end off last regular season going into playoffs.

Btw, he has 4 20+ point games this month so far.

seems like he's a chronic slow starter, but damn hes solid when he gets it going.

Yeah, hes been lights out. He really has stepped up his game. Great numbers, if he continues to produce like this for the rest of the season, he'll be one of the main reasons of our success.

I think he is the classic "slow starter" type of veteran.

In November, he shot .445
In December, he shot .451
In January, he is shooting .504

And I do not know how many posts we had to endure commenting on his demise this season.

Parker's really turned it up of late. It seems like every shot he takes, he knows is going in. My favorite ones are the "keep cutting around in circles until i'm dizzy" where he gets the foul extended jumper to go every time, seemingly.

Also, Kosta, i tried sending you a PM, but it doesnt work. Do you have AIM or MSN? I have a question or two for you.

Surprised this ain't locked yet. Mods been locking every thread I click on it's rediculous. Anyways AP started the season the same way last year so maybe its just the way he is. He's gonna be big for us down the stretch and in the playoffs obviously. What a great pick up still, I love having him on our team.

I love AP. You never question his shot selection like Moon and Delfino. The guy just knows how to play next to Bosh. He was struggling early in the season because we never went to him. We had Kapono and Bargs both starting at the time.

This team plays its best when everyone starting has a defined role.
Bosh- Main scorer
Caldy- Play maker
Moon- Opportunistic scorer
Parker- shooter
Bargs- (undefined)

Earlier in the season, things were not clicking because we had a fairly new team and everyone was in a rush to get shots up because they did not know when their next shot was going to come. I think taking Kap out of the starting lineup and adding moon payed huge dividends for this team.

AP is a much better player than last year. I admit I was calling him out earlier this season, but I knew he was going to get over it. I always thought he had the ability to take it to the cup and be agressive, and he's starting to show that lately. An agressive Parker will be so helpful for the Raptors in the playoffs. IMO he was an overrated defender last year and now this year he's an underrated defender.

That does not make any sense. I do not think that one admission now makes up for many misdirected posts earlier.

But of course no one is perfect. I know that for sure.

Yeah, PM's don't work for regular posters, only mods can use that function. Don't really wan to give out that information on here, so PM a mod and they'll relay it over to me.

AP has been money on that early clock fadeaway he loves this season... it looks dangerous since he's not even looking when he starts to jump, but to his credit he's been able to hit it.... He's proving its not time for him to get into his coffin yet...

But its always like.... "What? no, what kind of shot is th---- Nice shot AP, yeah!"

Yea, I was dogging AP alot earlier this year but he's been bringing it big time lately.

Even his D has picked up. I hope he keeps it up, we need him.

Those mid range fade aways are a thing of beauty, mostly because they almost always go in.

I remember when a bunch of posters on here were questioning if he was the same guy he was last year after having a bad preseason

30 something role players always take a while to get going and come playoff time you really see what they have in them.
