I think opposing guards really detest Calderon...
It certainly seems like Jose talks smack to other opposing guards throughout the game. It was obvious in Boston and tonight against Milwaukee as well. My question is do you think he starts it? Opposing players just being bitter?JEuro prejudices making Jose a target to talk smack? Or is Jose just a genuine trash talker on the court encouraging it all?
I think Jose is a really feisty guard. He isn't a great defender but he is feisty. I remember playing against guards like that when I played in high school and HATED it.

i think jose's always chatting and it's hard to understand him sometimes so opposing guards think he's talking trash to them. if you're talking about last night though, eddie house is just a moron. the dude was trash talking in preseason. i mean come on chillout you suck buddy.

I think it applies to the rest of our Point Guards. I dunno what it is about them, but they seem to be a magnet for quite a number of flagrant fouls.
Horford flagrant fouls Ford
Jones flagrant fouls Martin
Johnson flagrant fouls Calderon
Going to be concerning but I think this trend will continue for a while...

I like our sportsmanship but I don't think that it's incompatible with toughness and competitiveness and refusal to take any crap, and I like Jose for that. He gets compared to nash -- something I think is overblown because they have markedly different styles -- but they are alike in this one way: they are both fierce competitors. Never quit, never give an inch.

It just makes me
because you see him at ht handing out the Gatorade to his team mates so you get one side of his personality, and otoh, he clearly gets under the skin of other team players. (sometimes because he's owning them .. remember in the Arenas pg interview where someone (Norma???) asked him about Calderon, who had blown by him a couple of times and he was saying 'who?' as he clearly didn't really know or care about our backup pg, or was just being casual like he doesn't care, but then I'm pretty sure he mentioned him in his blog after another game)
