Tex calls out Odom and Luke on offense

Post#1 » by snaquille oatmeal » Fri Jan 25, 2008 8:14 pm

Winter gets hot over this offense

"Lamar [Odom] and Luke [Walton] really might be the key to this," he said. "They're going to have to hit the open shots. They're going to have to hit a good percentage of their shots, which they're not doing right now. They'll get better and more open shots if we play a team concept and move the basketball and go through with our cuts."

hopefully our players hear him.

They need to stop starting Luke Walton. When your own father says there lineup is better without you in it it's true. Bill said when they go with Ronny-Odom-Kobe-Farmar-Fisher they are much better. It's painfully obvious that is the case but our "greatest coach ever" doesn't see it.

Somebody besides Myself somebody who counts needs to call out Mitch and Phil about Odom being kept over great talent like Marion and RJ and Phil about playing Walton and Kwame over Ronny and Farmar.
That is why I have such confidence we will get a good draft pick is because those 2 are just as bad at some things as they are great at others.
As great as Mitch is at drafting he is that bad at trading.
As great as Phil is with motivation and x's and o's he is that bad at knowing which players to give time to which really shows a lack of commen sence. No other coach would screw that up and no other gm would take Odom over Marion.

I'm incline to agree with you on this Star (is it okay if we still call you Star). I must say when we do go with Fisher, Farmar, Bryant, Odom, and Turiaf were better off that way. We seem to play with more heart. I think when Odom sees Turiaf and Farmar out there doing it up then he'll somehow get it together as well. I must say they play really well together too. I also likle to see Farmar and Vujacic in the back court with Ariza at the three and Ronny and Andrew up front.

I don't remember if it was Odom in there with them.. but I love the line-up Jackson's been going with at times with Farmar, Vujacic, Bryant and Turiaf.

Lamar and Luke will never ever be able to hit the open jumpers. They are both horrible and inconsistent shooters. I get surprised when either of them actually hit a jumper.

Listen to the Yoda!

Seriously Tex never sugarcoats his words and always on the mark with his criticism for the players. No wonder he never liked LO and Kwame right from the beginning.

Luke is a decent shooter. but his problem is being able to get his shot off.

He has no lift on his jumper, he shoots very slow and doesn't get any seperation from his man. When he shoots he usually is wide open because of a double team or ball movement else where.

Odom is just a sad sad jump shooter.
Kwame Brown is servicable, get over it.
