This is a "good loss" if there is such a thing. That said, I thought that we would win 2 of the these 3 games and I'm still a believer in that.

Then again, going into tonight Charlotte has won 14 of their 16 games at home so perhaps we could help seperate them from us.

This loss was comically ironic- particularly the ending.

All season we have been giving our young guys a chance to finish games. Lou and Young have played nearly entire fourth quarters. For many teams this is a form of legitimate tanking- you give your young players valuable experience at crunch-time at the expense of having your more solid vets on the floor.

Since we have lost 8 or 10 I think Mo felt he needed to abandon his prior commitment to finishing out with youth, and he re-inserted our starters for the final six minutes.

Of course our more veteran starters can't score, and players like Green make turnovers- so we lose anyway. Mo tried to recover by re-inserting Lou with 2 minutes left, but it was too late.

I know the team really wanted a win tonight, and I feel bad for them. Its just ironic that we probably have a worse shot at closing out a close game with our starters than we do riding our inexperienced energy young players.

The same thing keeps happening with this team: They can't score in the fourth!

They'll put together some nice efforts, some nice games, then the crunch time comes and.....fizzzz.

why? 2 reasons. First, they don't have a post-presence. We all know this. It's been well-documented. But it's really getting ridiculous watching them try to create baskets when they have nobody posting up. Ever.

Secondly, they don't have a true go-to guy. Iggy played a whale of a game. It's worth noting that we haven't heard anything from SendEm about Iggy's performance tonight. He was a man. But admittedly, he's still not a real #1 option in the NBA. And perhaps he never will be. Which is okay. It's not his fault. It doesn't make him a shabby player. Scottie Pippen was voted one of the 50 greatest players of all time. And he was a complementary piece.

Iggy is a stud. He's a specimen. And he's a vicious defensive presence. But he's not a true go-to-guy down the stretch. That, combined with no post presence makes this a painful team to watch in fourth quarters.

This must really be starting to wear on Iguodala. You can tell by his body language. The dude is getting fed up. It will be very interesting to see what happens with him this summer.

Meanwhile, with these systemic fourth quarter woes, I could very easily see the Sixers slip into the bottom 6.

Iggy came out ON FIRE in the first half shooting an array of pull up jump shots. He even tried his hardest to beat his man off of the dribble. He tried really hard to drive a few times in the first half but just doesn't have that NBA level skill. The second half Iggy got SHUT DOWN. The Knicks played that little pull up jump shot closely and Iggy still couldn't drive. Jared Jeffries put the clamps on Iggy. Iggy was 1 of 6 from 3's and 3 of 5 from the foul line. This man played 42:44 minutes and only went to the foul line 5 times? Awful...

Jeffries is the type of defender that always used to give Iverson fits as well...a long SF creates a different challenge, and Prince used to do the same thing to Iverson.

Jared Jeffries doesn't give anyone fits. He normally gets scored on quite regularly by SG's and SF's. He left his defense in DC once he signed the long term guaranteed contract with the Knicks. Iggy is just an easy player to guard, no shake & bake and no quickness. After guarding players like Lebron, Kobe, Caron Butler, Paul Pierce, and D. Wade a defender who then defends Iggy HAS to feel like he is getting the night off.

Iggy threw up about 3 of the worst looking "floaters" that I have ever seen. They were flat with no touch and actually looked like passes.

Hey SendEm,

you wouldn't be audacious enough to argue Iggy's defensive abilities, now would you?

Iggy is absolute lockdown defender. Even Kobe has been open about that.

But your objective word generally holds more clout than the likes of Kobe, so let's hear it-

nice dodge.

i'll take it as a concession that Iggy's a great defender.

anything else would be argument for argument's sake.

15.5 PER, 18.6 pp48, 44.8% eFG%. All great #'s.

But of course you've seen enough of him to be the source, and are completely objective.
