well i'm just relieved that we are able to get Doc a win on an off-night for him, considering the losses he had when his game was on.

When you team is 'all __, no __', that's what happens. For many years Toronto was 'decent offense, decent pitching', which resulted in a lot of split series and no winning streaks to speak of. With our awful offense and great pitching, a few days of even league-average batting sets us up for a win streak, while a week or two of the usual five-hit, two GIDP affairs results in extended losing streaks.

In a way, I enjoy the roller coaster more; in past seasons, the inability to string together wins meant that one couldn't even harbour the false hope of a long streak to bounce the team into contention. It's no more likely now, but at least the hot stretches let me pretend.

Joltin' Joe Inglett returns with his clutch lazy line drives!

Edit: Shawn Camp faces two batters. He walks the first. He gives up what probably should have been a game-winning double to the other. He is now in line for the win.

Joe Inglett comes through. Hopefully the Jays can hold on.

good point about the previous years of Blue Jays teams. it was pretty frustrating that they were never able to pull off those 10 wins in 13 games, or 15 or 18, like the A's or Yanks are accustomed to doing late in the season

for real, this team is way too unpredictable.. we know a series is going to be a sweep, just a matter who's broom it is

Werth has 3 HRs and 8 RBI's tonight against us! Wow!!

Question. Why did we go with a rookie tonight?? He looked awful.
