we actually won every quarter except the 1st.

people just cry to much. Thats about it.

lol that really doesn't matter since the pistons pretty much settled this game in the first and just coasted till the end. its very similar to the playoffs last year. we made it "close" at the end but if you watched the game you could tell the magic had no control what so ever.

Well i def was not expecting a win but i was expecting the Magic to play competively. And that didnt happen in the first quarter. Im not upset about losing, just that they didnt try. Or in other cases, NJ game for example, that they start great and dont try in the second half. I can live with losing, just not the lazy efforts.

Its not like we got blown out and outplayed. WE just came out FLAT, and missing shots while they came out on fire.

The Magic played hard last night. They just came out flat in the 1st quarter, while the Pistons shot something like 80% for that quarter. It was enough to win in the end, but the Magic won the other 3 quarters and looked good in them. It was just one of those games where one team was blazing hot to start, while the other starting slow. Sometimes you can climb back into those games, but the Pistons had just enough to keep the Magic at bay. Overall the Magic have looked really good the last 4 games.

Detroit and Boston h
ave the two best records in the NBA, and people are saying the Magic had better win or there is going to be hell to pay on the board. The Magic have shown that, at times, they can beat these teams, but to expect them to win those games is to say that you expect them not to lose any games. I'm not happy that they lose either, but geez....

I can understand when people get upset when they lose to teams with bad records like the Grizzlies or Knicks. But those teams do manage to get wins every season, too -- sometimes against some very good teams (see Knicks beating Pistons, Suns losing to Timberwolves TWICE).

right now i'd just be happy to win all the games we're supposed to win against much lesser teams. beating the good teams is something i'll hope for once we've established ourselves against the little kids in the playground.

The reactions that are presented around here after a Magic loss are ludicrious.. I totally agree.. However the frustration comes because it dosent mean crap to win 50 games (like we may) since if you cant beat Detroit you go no where in the playoffs in the east. And us VS. Detroit in a seven game serious is.. well.. we all know...
There will be life after Dwight.

Honestly, who didn't expect that the Pistons would give the Magic an education last night?

I was totally prepared for the loss.

we can be happy with our standings, but if we really hope for the contending team that we've been told we've got, we should be damned well pissed off!!!

I don't know of many lottery teams that play .500 ball ;-)

since Dec 3rd we've gone 11-13. before the last 4 games it was 8-12.

and utah and houston are both currently lottery bound teams who are playing over .500 ball.

haha. i can't believe i just got factual on mhec. this'll never happen again, i'm sorry for breaking character.

Sorry should have qualified that with "Lottery teams playing .500 ball in the East"

Plus I also did the last 20 games... instead of last 10.

This board wasn't always so negative. It IS odd that now that we are closer to being a contender than we've been for 10 years or more that the RealGM internet fan base becomes so impatient.
Yes, the management team have made mistakes, but they have also made some good decisions.
I'm hopeful we can add a couple more quality pieces and contend for real next year.
People need to see the stages of growth and enjoy them as much as the eventual outcome.
This year I have been more solid in the conclusion that we DO need a real PG before we can contend for real, however.

My positive comment of the day:
The Magic will beat Boston on ABC!

OK...The Magic go 3-1 in the past week and are now 28-18. They beat the team with the best record in the NBA on Sunday. And these are the threads on see on the front page of the message board -- many started by Idunkonyou:

If, when the Magic get a legit starting PF, who goes?

Are we wasting our first-round picks?

PG or SG in the offseason?

Rashard's PER is the lowest its ever been in his career.

Can we say "perspective"?

You can talk bad about my threads all you like, but the fact remains, the Magic have two major areas of need. A true PF and a legit starting PG. The Magic will do well this year, but they could have been doing better if Battie was healthy or if they had a playmaking PG. That is the truth.
