What the hell do Julius Erving and Moses Malone have to do with this thread?
Stay on topic please.

Odom has been my favorite player in the league since he came out of Rhode Island and I was disgusted when he unfortunately was traded to The Lakers. Anybody but the Lakers I said when it happened. Knowing that his talent and abilities will not be appreicated by Lakers nor their fans and Phil Jackson's Triangle Offense.
Even through that, I have felt that he picked up the Triangle well and has gone beyond the call of duty by playing out of position since he's been on the Lakers. He's a small forward who've they have had 90% of the time playing the 4 since he's been there.
When does Phil let him play to his strengths? The only time I ever get to see him isolate (which he does well) it's MAYBE once a game. Run a couple of Iso's and motion plays for him and let him create which he can do but is not great at in the structure of the triangle.
You guys say all he can do is go Left. True, but he's still effective when he drives and goes left. Kinda like how everybody knew were Kukoc would go and yet still couldn't stop him even though he was slow as lava. He'll either set somebody up, get fouled or get a lay-up.
It's like you guys want him to be a bruiser down low, but he's not build for that. He's like 6'10 and what, like 215 ibs, lol. I know i'm exhaggerating but overall a long haul all tha bangin' has hurt him as far as his production. Look at the shoulder injuries he's had. The same one two years straight as a result of playing out of position.
I do agree that he shouldn't take as many outside shoots (3's) that he does, but to be honest, he only takes like what 8 shots a game or somewhere around there so it looks to me that he just gets frustrated with the offensive and just hoists up a couple of shoots here and there just because.
Odom isn't the problem, it's the coaching staff neglect to help play to their 2nd best players strengths. And yes, Odom is a better PLAYER than Bynum.
I'm not saying completely deviate from your offensive PHILosophy as a team, but put in place some wrinkles to make Lamar more effective. It's mind blowing to me how all he does now is run back and forth down the court and hit the block for rebounds. I can't even remember the last time I saw him bring the ball up the court without somebody else standing right next to him with their hands out waiting for him to pass them the ball so they could bring the rock up, smh.
Anyways, again, get rid of him, trade him. His talent shouldn't be rotting away on a team that doesn't even appreciate his game yet alone work effort and personal sacrifice shaving years off his career by playing him out of position for so many years.
