No he hasn't.

He has, but that really isn't saying much.

magee wrote:Gerald isn't saying anything because his agent told him not to say anything. Green obviously is in agreement with his agent, otherwise, we'd hear him say that he's willing to stay with the team and see what he get this summer. Boo to the handling of this situation. I hope he gets what he needs out of the deal, but this is the wrong way to go about it.

So his agent has authority over what he says and doesn't say, but his agent doesn't have the authority to ask for a trade for him? I think that Gerald is aware of it, and okay with it, I just think it was his agent's idea to handle the situation this way. I'm actually okay with his agent asking for a trade for him, he's obviously not in the team's long term plans, the only thing I don't like is that he told the media about it.
"A while back,'' Cardinal said, "I took a picture of the standings and texted it to Love, just to bust his chops,'' Cardinal said. "He sent me a picture back of a snowdrift.''

Well, if I was Green, I'd do anything to get out of Minny. He reallywasn't given a chance here, I'm not sure why, he had some really solid games, which should be enough to get him some PT. He was very solid for most of last season for Boston, ranging from awful to spectacular, to be sure.

I'd do that. Jaric would be a nice fit on CLE and while Snow wouldn't provide much on the court, he'd be a great mentor for the whole team. A pick and a 2-year deal seems like it would help both teams.

Would Snow be a player or a coach?

LOL -- Snow would be that wise vet on the bench who's deal expires in sixteen months, along with the rest of our team.

ESPN ran a poll earlier this year, asking either NBA coaches or Players (I can't remember which) who they'd say is the player most likely to become an NBA coach. Snow won.

how about GG for O'Bryant

both expiring deals, so no risk for either team

O'Bryant fills a need as a developing C, more front court depth

He averaged double dig last year yet hardly gets minutes this year. If he wants out I understand.

If MN can get a pick or a project big we do it, otherwise we let him walk and he signs somwhere this summer.

If we could've gotten a pick or project big we would've done it when the trade restrictions went off in october and before we declined his option. My guess is no one wanted him. He has played like a more athletic troy hudson for us. He is a terrible, terrible dribbler.

Patrick O'Bryant from GS (also option declined) would've made alot of sense (and still does), but my guess is it's already been offered and they passed, they have a glut of chucker wingmen already.

I like how Bucks and Knicks fans keep talking about worst team in the league, yet they aren't much better.

i rekon we should at least try to get a bit of value for him. cant let him go for nothing. even if it was a 2nd rounder, that would be better than nothing. and mchale has shown he can draft well, at times

There were rumors that the Raptors wanted to draft him 16th overall, but his agent/parents didn't want him playin' there

NBA needs a "Gerald Green rule" - anybody under 24 can be sent to the D-league, regardless of how much NBA experience they have.

I'd love that.

Two points on Gerald Green.

1. We should hold off on trading him, at least until the All Star Break. His name will be out there, and his value will be higher, especially if he wins the Slam Dunk Contest again. Meanwhile, we could showcase him a little. I don't expect great things from him, but the bottom line is that the NBA is entertainment, and GG can be entertaining.

2. I want to echo my thoughts that I've seen several trades of equivalent value out there, but GG always has more upside, and most of these trades have value that expire by this summer. Do we care about doing better over the next 40 games? I'd rather have just about anything that has value in 2009 than other expiring contracts.

Are you talking about Harrison or POB? Neither of them will help over the next 40 games - they won't get playing time, but they're young and at a position of need.

Although I do think not giving GG minutes will help in the long run. We would've won the Celtics game.

Let's be optimistic, and suppose that POB or Harrison win five extra games for us this year. We're happy five nights. This summer, we're in the same spot, except that center might cost us a few million more if we want to keep him, and we have less ping pong balls in the lottery.

Heck, I'd take a second rounder, rights to a player, or a few mil in cap space next year instead. To me, the POB and Harrison trades are definitely fair, but they don't move us any closer to our goal.
