KG was great to close out the game and rebounded like a monster. Paul played an awesome all around game and was responsible for a lot of Perk's success. Perk played great D on Al, made the most of his opportunities, and had what turned out to be the game-winning bucket. All 3 are excellent choices. I say we split it 3 ways.

Perkins, without a doubt for me. He was incredible on the defensive glass, imo .. he kept The Jefferson at bay on the offensive glass (2 offensive rebounds, with one of them sent right back in the 4th QTR) allowing Garnett to go get the ball. On the offensive glass, Perkins occupied The Jefferson and pulled down 3 offensive rebounds.
Scoring-wise, I give some of the credit to Perkins for finishing plays but a lot of it was a team effort.
Defensively, The Jefferson really didn't do all that much against him outside of a strong start. Anecdotally, Perkins was pushing him off his spots and bothered him with his length.
I said before the season (sometime in September) that Kendrick Perkins was due to see another sizable breakout (he had one close to two years ago that was obfuscated by injury) sometime around March. The growing pains of learning how to finish his shot and what he can do offensively will continue for a bit longer, imo. I think we are starting to see the momentum that confidence will bring to Kendrick's game. Just wait until he unveils the 18-footer that I spoke of HERE - 25 Dec 07 (5th post of the thread) (if you recall, just recently that shot was the topic of conversation as it was mentioned by Clifford Ray in an interview about Perk-- so I wasn't pulling anybody's leg.) When he gets the jumper working, he will comfortably be a double-digit scorer, imo.
Apologies for taking the thread a bit off-topic but the totties were wet and herb was sticky.

Perk and KG stole the cigar from Sebastian Telfair and the Timberwolves.....
It was fun to watch our former heroes in action.... they played hard....and we didn't play well...
It was Perk who bailed us out with his last minute put back of a Ray Allen miss and his swarming defence (with Rondo's double team help) on Al Jefferson which was key to preserving the win....KG then sealed the Timberwolves fate with pressure and a clutch steal on Bassey...
With KG's heroic return, this was a tough choice for me.. cause Garnett, night in and night out is "the soul" of this team and he proved that again last night!
But this time, give the cigar to Perk!
"Tough Love" win for the C's over the hustling upstart Timberwolves...

Please don't encourage Perk to become a player who looks to take an 18 footer. We don't need that. The kid could score 10+ a game if he could just finish the bunnies that KG, Paul, Ray, and Rondo hand him night after night. Big Baby and Powe are much better than Perk when it comes to finishing in the paint.
