All I can say is I can't believe you guys are whining about the defense and propose this trade because that is a weakness of both the players you like as acquisitions in that deal. Talent-wise, you get more back, but only in the scoring department. Plus, the Magic would have to be sure that they didn't have so many guys trying to score the ball that no one could score the ball.

Magic Trade
Dooling
Bogans
Arroyo
Garrity
Fran
Future First
New Jersey Trades
Vince Carter
Marcus Williams
Nelson/Williams
Carter/Redick
Lewis/Evans
Hedo/Auggie
Howard/Foyle/Gortat
Then the team can look at PG's on 10 day contracts til we fin an okay one, incase of injury..As we have now.
I know Carter is kind of on his last legs, but he is still an easy 15 ppg player, and without a large workload he can make this team a contendor.
For that package, yes. But where did you hear they were shopping him for expirings? Article link, please?
I'd love to see how Marcus Williams goes with regular minutes, also. I've heard good things about him but there is no way Jersey gives him up as part of a Carter dump unless they are getting significant talent back.

Carter would actually be a pretty good fit with the Magic. Carter is a good play making SG who runs the pick and roll/pop well and will also find open shooters on the perimeter. The Magic could run the pick and roll with Howard and Carter and spread the floor with Lewis, Turkoglu and Nelson. That would be tough to guard. He can also help carry the offense when Howard goes to the bench. He'll help on the boards too. And I believe Carter just turned 31 today so that's not really old.

Carter was traded for Alonzo Mourning while Carter was still an legit all star, we can land Carter with a simple package since his stock is at an all time low.
He is an upgrade to what we currently have at SG. If he can be a 17-20 ppg scorer, that gives 4 legit guys that can put 20+ every game. Plus he won't be expected to do much here and won't feel the pressure of being the team's star. He'll be the 3rd option on many nights
