Greg Oden's Trade Value

Post#1 » by DerrickRose23 » Sun Jan 27, 2008 5:58 pm

Greg Oden's Trade Value..
I am curious as to which players you would trade either 1 for 1 for him or 1 plus a package for him..

I personally believe
LeBron
Dwight Howard
Chris Paul
Chris Bosh
Dwyane Wade

Maybe
Carmelo in a package
Durant in a Package
Bynum in a package
Amare in a package

I personally doubt Oden gets traded but am curious as to what you perceive his value in a trade pre and post injury.. pre-injury ithink anyone but Dhoward/LeBron and maybe Chris Paul would be worth it..

Bosh and Aldridge are great friends.. Maybe a Outlaw or Webster/Oden for Calderon/Bosh package would be interesting for both teams if Toronto doesnt take the next step this year

Straight up? Lebron or Howard only.

With the extraordinary rate of Oden's recovery and the amount of time he'll have before he's expected to play again, I'm really not worried about it. I like the young makeup of this team and bringing in any of those other guys would take a serious reshuffle because of the positions they play.

I'd rather just hang on and be patient with Oden.

I agree with Sabas. After LeBron and Howard, there's no one I'd trade Oden for. Certainly not for the likes of Bosh or a busted up Wade. I also wouldn't consider anyone in the "Maybe" category.

Since neither LeBron or Howard will be traded, Oden won't be traded from Portland.

I'll keep this thread open a little longer, but I honestly don't see where it's going to go.

+1 other fans might think we're crazy homers and all that garbage, but just a few months ago this guy was already being hailed as the next Bill Russell. Hes going to come back and be a beast for us in the future, and the only guys I would consider are James and Howard.. Pre Injury I wouldnt have traded him for Howard at all, and I still probably wouldn't, but id consider. People outside of Portland arent hearing the same things that people in Portland are about this kids rehabbing. hes going to be fine, and hes going to dominate

Looking at it from all points of view, if I were another team,
I would be highly suspicious of Portland if Oden were available.

All things being equal, the only guys you would take for Oden
would be Lebron or Howard. There are no other guys now
or upcoming that I would trade him for.

LOL They wont trade the following players for Oden, no way!!
LeBron
D. Howard
C. Paul
Bosh
Wade
Carmelo

Now if Oden does very well in his rookie season
then a few of those players could be had.. .but
c'mon guys, I think youre overvaluing Oden.. .
Its true he could become extremely good, but
the key word is "could". I really doubt theres a
GM that would trade a prooven superstar for a
guy that hasnt even played one NBA game.. .

Doubt it, Im guessing they would trade Iverson first.
Melo is still somewhat young & has many years left.. .

^^^Superstars never get traded for superstars anyway. Superstars either stay with their teams or get traded for crap. Case in point (Kobe - stayed with team, or if you prefer, Kobe traded for Divac, KG - traded for crap, Barkley traded for crap, Drexler - traded for crap, Shaq - traded for crap, John Stockton - stayed with team, David Robinson - Stayed with team, Tim Duncan - stayed with team, Olajuwon - stayed with team (that stint in toronto doesnt count)

No, mainly because the Blazers have LMA.
LMA will probably never be as good as
Bosh but hes still will be a good player.

QFT.

That's a good roster, but championship? Not a chance. Bosh and Aldridge is a soft frontline defensively.

I'm not trying to be a dick, but do you guys really believe you could get LeBron or Howard for Oden? Or are you just saying those are the only players you would trade him for if by some miracle the trade was proposed?
