After insulting one of our best posters and former mod, I think you should take your argument or lack thereof elsewhere. This is your only warning.

I guess that would include idiots like yourself who watch highlights on Sportscenter and see him dunk and proclaim him to be the best in the league. Again, there is this 7 footer in Houston who is better than Dwight at the moment.

Yao CARRIED his team offensively without TMac. Put Dwight in Yao's shoes. The team will be LUCKY to be .500. Dwight isnt that good yet. People get carried away with his amazing athleticism, but there is more to basketball than just jumping and dunking. Can he get better? Of course. But I am really surprised his offense hasnt grown at all. Even after working with Clifford Ray and now, Ewing.

Seriously? Yao might have an argument, but Okur? Come on.

I really don't think a single NBA GM in this league would take Yao over Dwight Howard, even if we are just talking about this season. Yao has a more polished offensive post-up game, but Howard can hurt a team just as bad, it's just not as conventional because most of his points come from finishing ridiculous alley-oops, drawing a ton of fouls, and scrap baskets around the hoop. Just because Howard doesn't do it in as traditional a way as Yao, doesn't mean he isn't just as effective offensively. I would say they are pretty even offensive players.

And Dwight is certainly a better defensive player than Yao, there really is no debate about that.

I really can't see how anybody but Howard is the best center in the league. He's a legit MVP candidate and I don't think you could say the same thing about Yao.

When the team needs a basket, you can go to Yao. The same cannot be said of Dwight. Again, people are getting carried away with his athleticism, but his offensive repertoire is very poor. I have been following him the last two years, and I still see a very raw offensive product.

take the win, they had to hit a 28 foot turnaround 3 pointer at home without KG on the floor to beat us. take it

one question, how come no tech for the howard slap on rondo..I know it wasnt to bad, but if you can get a tech for taughnting then why not a slap to the face?

Good game fellas. Wish KG could have played, it's just not the same without him.

Oh please...Any other player would've gotten a tech for that crap... But whatever... we didnt have the league MVP for this year, and it took a hail Mary from the scrub Turkoglu to beat us..Shows the Magic are not so good as everyone else thinks...

LOL, you sound like a guy on the Knicks board who also can't stand getting torched by Hedo. If calling a 19+ppg player a "scrub" helps keep you from committing suicide over a loss, go for it.

His offensive repertoire is very poor? The guy averages 22 ppg on like 60 percent shooting. How is that poor? Yea, he doesn't have the cute post moves of an Al J or Yao, but those guys don't have the ridiculous ability to finish basically any alley-oop you throw anywhere remotely close to the rim. Sounds like your stuck in the old school, just because it might not be conventional doesn't make the things Dwight Howard can do extremely effective.

If you strictly define offensive repertoire by post-up moves, you might have a point, but when I think of "offensive repertoire" I think of "any ways possible this guy can put the ball in the hoop." And while Dwight doesn't have great post up moves, he gets to the line a ridiculous amount, he finishes everything around the rim, and you can play pick and roll with him and lob it anywhere near the rim and he's gonna stuff it.

Hedo's usually money from three, I can't see how luck plays that much of a factor.
