kidd wants out of jersey

Post#1 » by CourtsideTV » Sun Jan 27, 2008 10:28 pm

trade expirings + jj for him? sure i like jj and want him to be part of our core but if we can get kidd..we'd have a solid pg..sure he's old and about to break but he can really help with our offense..

dwight would be like shaq on roids avg 30 ppg if we had kidd.

I don't know who is expiring but we DESPERATELY need Kidd to run this team. We would go undefeated for the remainder of the season with him.

Kidd would make us an instant contender IMO Thorn would ask for Hedo in any deal though I think . Is Kidd worth giving up Hedo ? Maybe they would take Shard instead but then we would be screwed at PF . Even more so than we are now .

That's garbage, NJN would want more than that.

I'll just copy and paste another post I made about J Kidd here ..since it's J Kidd related ..

--------------------

All I'm saying is ..we would be more of a contender with Jason Kidd. Our overall play depends on the solid ball movement and leadership from the point guard spot.

I think we would move up a level if JKidd was brought into Orlando.

If someone was to bring up the fact that he is old, I give you this. Kidd is better, and will be better through the length of any of our point guards contracts, and will make us instantly better.

The only problem is contract issues, he does have huge money still left and it would cripple our PG position, leaving us with only Kidd after trading away all of our expirings and Jameer to make it work.

Adding another big contract player right now means nothing unless management wants to stay under the luxury tax, but they have said in the past and have also demonstrated that they are willing to go over.

That being said...if we were to trade for Jason Kidd it could do nothing but help us for atleast the next 2 seasons. We would have him for the end of this season and next season...and after hearing what he said about Dwight and how top free agents will sign here for less to play with him....I would have to think that JKidd would sign for less to stay here after his contract had run out.

We would be capable of a title right away if we could manage to make a trade keeping Hedo, Shard, and Dwight.

But the problem is we gots nothign

obviously we won't be making a move of that scale, but who do you guys seriously think will get him, or have a chance?

hopefully the Magic can throw a couple of our expirings into the mix to help another team get him and we can get Marcus Williams out of the deal or something?

Can we start a JKiddToOrlando.com website going or something? I mean, why isn't he a solid choice? Bring him here with all the weapons we have here ..Dwight ..Hedo ..Rashard, some guy at power foward (Because Hedo would play the 2 ..). Man, I can already feel the championships rolling in.

p.s. i think it's pretty rude for a guy with one of the top 5 biggest contracts in the league, and aging, to demand to be traded to a contender. if he wants to be on a contender, give up the money, accept a buyout.

it'll be hard enough for NJ to find a taker for him in the first place, let alone if it's restricted to contenders.

JKidd on this team would be golden. This team would catapult into instant contenders. I salivate at the thought of him on this team.

Bring in JKidd at the point & Haslem at PF. OMG this team would rock.

I think the Nets as a franchise would want to trade him before buying him out...

not if he'll agree to drop the last year of his contract, saving them $20mil.

although.... if they do that it still counts against the cap against them right? or would they clear that off the cap?

I have been saying it for months now.

Battie
Dooling
Arroyo
Garrity
JJ

for

Kidd
Armstrong

NJ would like Battie cause they only have, I think, 2 bigs on contract next year. Battie could start at center or be a great backup.

NJ wouldnt lose much, they could start

M. Williams
Carter
Jefferson
S. Williams
Boone

This trade would leave them 10 mil under the cap this summer

I am not crazy

i really don't think new jersey will get that much for kidd. he is old and getting paid 20 million. they are looking at expirings and draft picks.

Um, no.

It's very rare for a team to get equal value in return. In fact, the only thing the Nets want is a bunch of expiring contracts since they are looking to rebuild.

Jason Kidd has demanded a trade before, by the way -- several times since they did not re-sign Kenyon Martin. Rod Thorn just ignored him because he couldn't get a deal he wanted. Regardless of what ya'll think, I don't think Rod Thorn will walk away on the short end of a trade if they trade Kidd. They traded Marbury for Kidd and Mourning and a first-round pick for Vince. I think they would be more likely to trade Carter and/or R.J. first.

I'm not sure if the Nets will get that good of a return, most of the teams that you think would want him aren't rich with cheap young players AND expirings.

I would say to them you can have our first this year, and in 2010 unprotected(I think it's against the CBA to trade 1sts in b2b years) the expirings and some youth. if they can find better then they should take it but Kidd will not go to a team that really has no shot at going deep into the playoffs that's why I think us, LA, and Cleveland are the only logical destinations at this moment IMO but I don't think Otis is smart enough to really get involved since he's married himself to Nelson.

I think if you put McGee back then, he would get those blocks just as easily as Russell did. Russell's athleticism was well ahead of the players of his time, and that's about it.
