With Our New Global Director of Scouting:How about Saer Sene?
I really like his potential.. I think that he could end up developing into something really well as a defensive big (like a Dalembert type) and think that with our new director of scouting being a great scout in Africa he would have a lot of interest in the Young center.. He has been dominating the D-League this year and looked alright when he played for the sonics. He is Raw, but is only 19. Also, the best part about him i feel is that he runs the floor like a guard/forward type, has a 9'5 standing reach and a 7.85 wing span the best in the league.. We need a Center of the future that can rebound and block shots to help Bosh.
What are your thoughts on him (please dont just regurgitate ignorant comments about how raw and unskilled he is if you havent seen him)?
What could we get him for (he was last year's 10th overall pick)?

not trade bargnani for him.. i want him for maybe Humphries or for someone else like Moon (they'd have to give something back as well)..
I think his potential is going to be something very good.. people just dont know it yet.. i have seen him play once in person and was really impressed.. he had at least 7 blocks the day i sw him

Ujiri has also played an active role in promoting basketball in Nigeria by starting the Top 50 Bigman Camp five years ago. He also serves as a director for the NBA's Basketball Without Borders Africa program.
I'm pretty sure Sene was one of his most proud students. He helped him on his whole journey to the NBA.

But just because he is our scout now doesn't mean we would be interested.
He's a Sonic right now and I doubt we could find a package that they would want in return for him. If they're not willing to accept Joey and Dixon then I doubt we are interested in giving up much more.

Seattle is rebuilding for the future, and Sene will probably peak at the same time as Durant, Green, and their pick...
if their going to suck right now anyway what reason would they have to trade him when he could be extremely valuable down the line when they're hopefully contenders? It would be dumb to trade him because he's still potentially a diamond in the rough, they need a good C, and you wouldn't get anything close to potential future value....

I'm not implying that, but people were wondering how our global scout fits into this so I provided the information they asked for. Thats all.

Sene is actually an interesting prospect. I think if enough is invested in him, he could become a serviceable big man in this league. His is raw thats for sure, he needs to work on his footwork from what I have seen from him. I think he is a little too clumsy.

I wouldnt mind if we got him as a long term investment but BC already stated that he is not going to get a Center unless he can shoot.

Honestly I really doubt Sene goes anywhere. He's just a bad basketball player. He's very bad offensivly. Poor defensivly other then blocking shots. But has long arms for a 7 footer and is athletic. There might not be a lot of 7 footers that are as long as him, but there are a lot of 7 footers that are good at basketball. He's putting up good stats in the D-league because there isn't good big men in the d-league, and he can relly on athletisism. We all saw Pop Sow dominate the D-league putting up massive stats then get shipped to europe so I don't think putting up stats there is relevent.
He could be somewhat decent like Diop Way down the road. But I think somebody else nailed it when they said we wouldn't want to give anything up of value for him, and Seattle's not going to want Joey Graham coming back for him. Personally I want to wait a bit to see how Bargnani develops then move forward from there.
