Game 43 - Cavaliers @ Lakers 3:30 ABC

This is a big win after blowing the game against the Suns. My first thought about this game is hoping Anderson Varejao isn't out too long. Yet another fourth quarter comeback victory, they showed a stat that the Cavs lead the league in that category. Probably has alot to do with what Outlaw was saying earlier, the third quarter is like the Bermuda Triangle or something for our team. I must give Larry Hughes props. He had a very solid game and has been doing so for almost a week now. We're going to need him if both Andy and Sasha are out for a long period of time. Z cooled off bigtime from the past few games, but still had a double-double with 6 offensive boards. Drew just wow, I know he's not great. But he needs to take more than 4 shots to be effective. He's a bad matchup against Odom, and managed 9 boards. You have to atleast try to get Odom in some foul situation.
Then you have Kobe and LeBron. I just love watching these two, especially when the fourth quarter comes around. You know they want to go at each other. They know what the people want to see, and they are wired to do it. I thought LeBron had a kind of off night. Which is just nuts to say since he had 41-9-4 in this game. But when I'm looking at the boxscore I see this.

player A: 41 points on 16-32 shooting, 9 rebounds, 4 assists
player B: 33 points on 10-21 shooting, 12 rebounds, 6 assists

Player B is usually the LeBron I'm use to seeing. Player A is the Kobe I'm use to seeing. Tonight was both players being the opposite. For Kobe fans, I'm not saying anything bad about your boy(just think he takes a high volume of attempts). They're both just phenominal players. I just thought it was odd how they seemed to flip spots when they were against one another.

Just wish he didn't get caught up in the LeBron/Kobe hype of this game. Of course the fact that Kobe did as well evened things up a bit. I mean how often does LeBron have more turnovers than he does assists?

IF Larry played like these last two games all the time and Gooden played AT LEAST little below his average, we would be unfreakinstoppable.

Now that Sasha finally seems to have remembered how to play (before his injury) Gibson can't hit a shot to save his life and Gooden has been darned iffy ever since Varejao came back. This team is schizo.

yeah, larry has been awesome today and against the suns. if he could bring it like that most of the time, we would be fine and he would not be in the worst contracts category

Yeah, that' true, too...We can only imagine how good this team could be if all players went on all cylinders IN THE SAME TIME.

This is something I think he can do any game. He has been getting into the lane and taking short jumpers rather than taking so many 3's. His shot is still a bit iffy, but at least when he starts out inside he tends to have good confidence throughout the game.

Now that has to be pretty much the definition of a bad season.

Now maybe people will finally stop saying that LeBrons defense is bad. His defense on Kobe was outstanding tonight.

BMac hope you're working on the next game thread. You're becoming a good luck charm, plus have a good eye for the cheerleaders. I've had a feeling for about a week now that we're going to go on a big run and push Detroit down the stretch. I hope it happens, the Phoenix loss put a dent in it. I think this team is more than capable of taking that 3rd seed at the minimum. That depends largely on Varejao's injury though. He is just a tempo setter for us. Good game to the Laker fans. Hopefully the Lakers and Cavs can get healthy come playoff time. It's a longshot but I'd love to see that Finals matchup.

It's not really Laker fans it's the usual suspects the same old LeBron/Cavs haters that you'd expect (Heat and Nets fans, surprised no Washington or Detroit fans are weighing in on it).

Petty good prognostication there. I guess it wasn't a blowout since the Cavs didn't end up winning by 7 :wink:

Your Cavs have the Lakers number right now I can't figure it out on why we struggle with them, but LBJ definitely is the main reason. Him and Kobe are just a load to handle.

Hughes played big today, most of the time it seems like he out of sync.
We're a little busted up as far as our bigs go but that's the NBA. You just gotta play who's on your schedule at that time.
