Methinks that you overstate your point. Walton was by no means wide open. When he got the ball LeBron was right there. No way could he have gotten the shot off uncontested. Pretty remarkable when you consider that it was LeBron that was double teaming Kobe and switched off the prevent Walton from taking an unmollested shot.

Well, if Puke catch and shoot he would have had a good chance. But he instead pump faked it what a frkn idiot. Lebron did recognize the pass of a double team but had Puke not do a fake when no body was there he could have drained it.

Proves your lack of judgment when it comes to professional athletes.

Lol ok buddy, im done with you, especially thinking wade is better then lebron this season.

and dont come back with your arguements "omg but wade has a ring11!1!!1!one pwned."

also besides lebrons stats, he has the record aswell even with huge injuries...
o wait nvm wade has a ring, i forgot.

9-33 is still amazing record for you guyz tho.

You obviously have a lot of hatred for the Miami Heat, as evident in other threads.

I came in here and called Kobe Bryant the best player in basketball.

If anything Duncan passed the torch to Lebron since he was the best last season.

Apparently, your reading comprehension skills are lacking as well.

Where did I make reference to THIS SEASON? Obviously, I hinted at Kobe's 3 rings, Duncan's 4 rings, Wade's lone ring, and LeBron's choke job in the 2006-2007 NBA Finals. What does that have to do with THIS SEASON? I'm talking about overall -- throughout.

Seriously, dude. No offense at all, but please do a better job of comprehending what you read. It's irritating having to explain myself over and over after being so blatant the first time.......

Marino has a MVP to his name, and led his team to the Super Bowl. Kobe hasn't done either.

Kobe Bryant is the complete package, IMO.

1. Kobe Bryant
2. Tim Duncan
3. Dwyane Wade
3. LeBron James
5. Kevin Garnett
(Chris Paul, IMO, really has a shot at being the "next")

That's how my "Top 5" would rank.

If LeBron won a title tomorrow, I'd easily place him ahead of Wade.

Bump to get back on topic.

During the last part of the game today Kobe just couldn't take Lebron one on one. He started resorting to screens to free him up. I was somewhat surprised.

Then on the other end Lebron has Kobe one on one and waves off the screen, clears some room and pops a medium range jumper over Kobe. Guts and confidence.

2 games he locked kobe up in the first game in the 4th quarter and he did the same this time. that is 2 games against kobe that lebron got the best of him. LeBron is the best all around player in the league. duncan is def not the best he might have the most rings but hes far from his prime and the spurs wont win another championship with him. timmy is to old and i dont think he has what it takes anymore. you could say oh well shaq is the best player in the league just cuz he has 4 rings if you wanna make that argument for duncan. we are talking about the most talented players to me that means the best. and it is either kobe or lebron and my vote goes to lebron.

The ones I see just want to bash LeBron. I guess Kobe is the lesser of the two evils in that respect.

Good point, but what's better:

Individual MVP achievement plus the satisfaction of knowing that "you" took your team to the big show, or actually winning the big one? (much less 3 times)

LeBron will probably soon have a regular season MVP to his name, and he already took his team to the Finals pretty much single handedly. (Well, NetsForce had a great post earlier about Cleveland's great team defense in the postseason last year.) However, IMO, at least one ring is needed to secure a legacy and argument as THE best........

I don't hate the Heat. I'm just not impressed with them. But that's not here nor there.

It's a reflection of what goes on.

I certainly don't go into every single thread that has Kobe, LeBron or Wade discussions in it, and throw a whole bunch of stats and accomplishments of Timmy to reflect how dominant he is. Which, btw, would blow out every single accomplishment any one of these guys have.

Like the one guy that refers to Wade's ring, and uses that as slap to LeBron James. And then uses LeBron James' 30+% shooting as a way to put him down in the finals. Yet, everything in their paths were different.

The guy calls me a hater, and has done nothing but put down LeBron James. Whereas I've never said anything bad about Wade, LeBron and Kobe.

Do I believe LeBron and Kobe are the two best wing players in the nba ?

Yes.

Well, speaking of career your list is good....but i think this is just taking this year into account.

I would put Lebron at 1.

Isn't that a list for a "past" discussion, excluding Garnett?

We're looking at the best players in the league today, and putting everything into perspective. You don't judge a basketball player based off of one season. It doesn't work that way.

Now, if you want to argue who has had the best 2007-2008 season thus far?

Well, that's a different argument where Wade wouldn't even grace my top 5, and LeBron would certainly be in the argument with Kobe Bryant & Chris Paul for the #1 spot.

However, the thread title is about "passing the torch" -- which has nothing to do with a SINGLE season. That's an overall assessment.......

#7 David Robinson

On topic: Kobe/Duncan is the best player in the NBA.

Off topic: Do you deny that David Robinson is number 7 to the majority of the world, and therefore truly number 7?
