I will agree with you on this. It was a pretty lame call. It should have been the "foul to give" if a foul at all. But it's a call that we have seen go against us so freakin' many times. I recall Kobe getting that type of call on a 3 pointer against us once. If it was a player other than Roy, we wouldn't have gotten the call. What can I say?

Good luck to you guys the rest of the season...I really really like the Hawks. Josh Smith is a monster.

You have to admit that last foul was garbage, though. Not even close to a shooting foul.

sometimes, when a team has a foul to give, it's not good. Johnson definetely fouled Roy, and Roy saw it coming. He didn't dribble after the foul and went into a shooting motion, so the call was justifiable...but it could have been called the other way as well.

Atlanta took a risk by using their foul to give, and lost the bet

The Blazers need to work on staying in games in the first half but it's definitely nice to have a win. I credit the hawks for making the comeback tough but the Blazers played very good team basketball in the 4th quarter and they were somehow able to pull away with the win. Go Blazers!!!

Unbelievable win.

The key turning point was getting out of that zone defense - that's when Atlanta stopped scoring.

The coaching staff needs to make adjustments faster.

Roy played MVP in that last quarter for sure.

Wow at Roy! Hopefully this is the beginning of a great player in the making... How old is Roy anyways?

Hes 23, his birthday is almost exactly a month before mine, part of the reason why I like him so much.

What is it with Blazers v Hawks games? The last time Portland beat the Hawks by more than 2 points was December 17th of 2004, when the Blazers beat the Hawks by 16 points in Atlanta. Since then, these are the scores in the Blazer v Hawk matchups...

Feb 25th, 2005: 102-101. Blazers Win, Randolph GW shot with 9 seconds left.

Nov 5th, 2005: 94-93. Blazers Win, Randolph GW FT with 0.2 seconds left.

Nov 27th, 2005: 77-75. Blazers Win, Miles GW shot with 1.3 seconds left.

March 23th, 2007: 102-100 OT. Blazers Win, Roy gave Portland a 5 point lead on FT's with 4.3 left, Salim Stoudamire hit 3 point at buzzer.

Jan 21st, 2008: 111-109 OT. Blazers Win, Outlaw GW shot with 0.9 left.

Jan 27th, 2008: 94-93. Blazers Win, Roy GW FT with 2.3 seconds left.

There was only one game between 2004 and now that had a final score of more than just 2 points was December 4th of 2006 when the Hawks beat Portland by 11 points.

well, deffintelly it was a GREAT win for the blazers.

the team seems to be working "fine", doing a good defensive job, what is really starting to worry me is the offensive side of the team.

roy is doing his part.
outlaw seems to be doing his.

what about the rest? aldridge still battles, jack has his moments, blake almost doesn't make shots, martell... well, you get the picture.

but i won't get too greedy yet, i know aldridge is still making his way and that martell as young as he is he still has things to learn and to get better.

BUT, they have to end soon their slump!

I'm reading on other forums that Roy was sick and almost didn't play today. If that's true, WOW.

Wow, he should get sick more often. It seems like whenever Roy plays sick, he's even more incredible than he usually is.

Thanks! It'll definitely be hard to wait four days to see if Roy makes the game. He definitely deserves it but he's now at the mercy of the coaches.

He does deserve it, but I still think it'll be a longshot for him. It's just REALLY rare that a 2nd year player makes it. Having TMac out of the game helps though.

Looks like the schedulers gave us a favor here. Denver is about to lose their first game of a brutal back to back. They're about to lose to Dallas and then they have to play New Orleans tomorrow.

Damn? Didn't he have the flu against the Raptors? Where he had 25 points, 9 boards, and 8 assists?

Someone needs to inject Roy with a disease or something....Like Alzheimer's or something, so he never forgets how to score 25 ppg, dish 5 assists, and grab 5 boards each night.

What a game!

Post#118 » by trentsdad » Mon Jan 28, 2008 2:35 am

What a great comeback they made, especially considering how terrible the previous 4 quarters had been(2nd half Houston, first half Atlanta)

But again this team kept their composure and finally made a couple of big stops.

To me the key change was when Nate brought in Sergio with Roy which helped end the double teams which were absolutely smothering Roy.

Losing this game could have seriously hurt the confidence of this young team, but like the rest of the year, they produced in the fourth quarter and let the other team implode

Incredible
