No. Everybody here knows that Lebron and Howard are going nowhere. But the question posed was which of those guys would we trade Oden for.I have to agree that I wouldnt trade Oden for anything short of James or Howard.

We're just saying that those are the only players we'd seriously consider moving Oden for. As I stated in my original post, neither Cleveland or Orlando are going to be trading LeBron or Howard anytime soon, so this whole discussion is fairly pointless.

That's just it, we don't want to trade him and neither do other teams want to trade their stars. I'm pretty sure the creator of this thread isn't even a Blazer fan.

I agreed with Spykes at the beginning though, the thread is pointless, and should be locked sooner rather than later.

If I HAD to trade Oden, I'd trade him for them, but otherwise, no I wouldn't really trade him.

EDIT: Any reason you ask that?

I'd say only Lebron, and then only if Oden demanded a trade. I wouldn't trade him for Howard--Oden should be a better all-around player than Howard in virtually every major category with possibly the exception of rebounds since I think Oden can match Dwight but probably won't surpass him.

Until we know how good Oden will be, I wouldn't trade him for anybody. Not LeBron, not Dwight, nor would I trade him for any combination of players.

Sure there might a group of players that would make the blazers better in the short run. But if Oden comes back strong and lives up to most of his potential then he's a once a in generation dominant big men. No team that trades one of those ends up better for it. Did the Sixers end up better after trading Chamberlain or the Bucks better off trading Kareem or the Magic better off losing Shaq?

If KP decides to trade Oden it will be because he's convinced that is not going to be the impact player that he's expected be. If that happens, I doubt teams will lining up offering up their best players for him anyway.

I was sort of hoping for a Bosh-healthy Oden trade when I heard Portland got the 1st pick. Bosh would definitely fit in very well w/ the Blazers team, especially since close with Jack and Aldridge. The Blazers certainly would have a very lethal offensive team that could run, run, run. Oden's defense might prove more helpful, but I haven't seen nearly enough of him to make that claim myself

Not a chance the Blazers would have ever considered a Bosh for #1 pick (Oden) swap. They reportedly turned down a KG and Foye for the #1 pick trade prior to the draft, so there's no way Bosh would have gotten the Raptors that pick. Even knowing Oden would need surgery and would miss his whole rookie season, Portland still wouldn't consider moving Oden for Bosh.

Nothing against Bosh, who's a very good player, but Oden just means so much more to Portland. Not to mention that Aldridge and Bosh are too similar to be effective imo. Neither is a true C and neither is a stud defensively. Aldridge and Oden will complement each other much better.

There is no GM in the NBA, and probably none in NBA history, that would accept Bosh back for Oden. Not even Isiah.

Pritchard openly admitted that he was really close to making that deal. He said it was the only deal that was offered where he really had to think on it for a night, but in the end, he turned it down.

Neither the Oregonian nor Pritchard mentioned specifics, but the article did say that the trade Pritchard had to think about was from a team within our own Division and the offer was for a future HOF player and a highly touted rooked. It's not hard to figure out which team that was... Especially looking back at how hard McHale was trying to move KG at that point.

Imagine what our team would be like this year with Garnett out there grindin' and talking trash..I like his court dimeaner..

I was also wondering what happened to Foye..?..He had been talked about like Roy when he came in the league..I think he's hurt but I'm not really sure..

Foye has had some sort of knee problem iirc. It's kept him out all year so far and he's just now getting back to practice.

The Blazers definitely would have been a championship contender right away with KG here. But I'll take the chance at having a Spurs-esque dynasty over having a 3-5 year championship window.

It's kindof a pointless discussion, but unless Greg continues to experience health problems I agree with what has been stated before; only LeBron James and Dwight Howard should be close.

It seems quite obvious Greg isn't going to get traded, which is one reason this is a bit pointless; the other reason being he still hasn't played an NBA game yet lol... Can't wait to see him get on the court next year though, I have a feeling he and Roy are going to be the new Shaq and Wade/Kobe the next decade, with some great help from LaMarcus, Travis etc. (Every time I think of that it still makes me shiver lol)
