I would. He would be the perfect backup for Howard IMO and he could replace Foyle.

I figure the Magic would be his only option. His house is there and wouldn't it be something to have him come back and finally win a title where he started. Shaq still has some juice left, but he needs to be in a coming off the bench role and have very little minutes. In Orlando he would get just that considering Howard plays about 38 to 39 a night.

Simply answer, the Magic would sign Oneal for anything they where allowed to sign him. Major question: would Shaq accept a bench role?

no; don't need another poor ft shotting big man with no range. Especially when he is old and constantly injured.

Nope. The whole reason he'd accept a buyout in the first place is to go somewhere where he could prove he's still got it. Can't really do that coming off the bench.

I would love for the Diesel to come back home to where it all began and lead this young Magic squad to the championship that escaped them in 1995

Let's look at this from Shaq's side: is he going to walk away from $60 million?

No. And thus, he won't retire.

DR, thats it in a nutshell. Shaq will not walk away from that kind of dough. Shaq, for being the goofball that he can be, is no dummy. I'd love to see the Big Fella play for the Magic again, but it's not going to happen.
You look confused...let me fill you in.

The point of a buy out is that he gets his money and can walk. Same thing just happened with Mighty Mouse.

He won't get all his money back though in a buyout. I'd actually think he'd be more likely to go back to the Lakers and finish his career with Jackson and reconcile with Kobe.

No, Nope, definitely not and thats why he would never sign here. With dwight he would know he'd be coming off the bench

It won't matter, as long as the Magic, won't upgrade the PG position, as it is now Dwight barely see the ball on crunch time, due to the ineptness of Jameer, Arroyo and Dooling. Shaq wont due shiat, if nobody can get him the ball.

And how do you propose he do that?

By the way, I can't believe anyone would say no to this.
