While I don't think Boon is much better (horrible free throw shooter, and not much different on the boards) having him + Sean Williams definitely doesn't leave as much room for Hum as I thought it did.

Bad trade for both sides, agreed.

Boone is pretty good and Sean Williams is an interesting prospect, but they aren't any better than Kris. They both get 7 or 8 more minutes a game because the Nets have an absolutely terrible rotation at PF/C (if they didn't they'd be a much better team with their backcourt) so they both grab a few boards, but when you look at their per minute stats, Humphries is right there with both of them and has a much better defensive impact than either of them. Sean Williams gets a lot of blocks, but does so at the expense of his team's defense where the opposition scores a whole lot more efficiently when he's on the court.

That's sort of splitting hairs because these guys are all comparable, but right now those two guys are pretty much the Nets' frontcourt at the moment. I suspect Kris would start for the Nets, but even if he wouldn't he'd be the first guy off the bench.

As for Marcus Williams, he definitely looks to score before he passes and he did at UConn, too. He isn't a very good shooter, either, which is another problem. I think his best case scenario is Mo Williams, and that's pretty good, but I also don't think many players ever actually reach their best case scenario and his more likely scenario is roughly Jameer Nelson. He's a solid, if unspectacular PG prospect but he's never going to be a top-end starter in the NBA. I can think, offhand, of a bunch of NBA PGs 26 or under that I'd rather have and while some players will eventually drop off that list others will quickly join it (think Derrick Rose). Is he so much better a prospect than Jarret Jack?
