Swap Oscar with Magic and I'd say that's right.

Ok, I'm game. I'll go about this from two perspectives. I'll limit it to players I've accutally watched and I'll try to build a team rather than a stats sheet.

PG: John Stockton (I loved his game and I think given that I can choose any number of scorers for the other four slots a pure PG is whats needed)
SG: Jordan (do I have to? Magic was a guy I'd ike to have put here)
SF: Larry Bird ( Guy has all around game and hits the three in legendary style)
PF: Charles Barkley (say what you will the little pudge was a beast in his day.
C: Shaq (in his prime he was unstopable in the league)

PG: Jose Calderon
SG: Anthony Parker
SF Jamario Moon
PF Chris Bosh
C: Andrea Bargnani

Someone had to put that lineup in there
My Team:
Chris Childs/Mike James/Jalen Rose/Andrea Bargnani/Rasho Nesterovic

I'm also gonna go with players that I've seen play:

PG: Magic
SG: Jordan (I'd be surprised if anyone left him out)
SF: LBJ (he can do a little bit of everything at a very high level)
PF: The Worm (he may not score but, you don't need him to)
C: Shaq

The hardest pick for me was at PG. I couldn't decide between a pure PG or a combo guy that has handles. I decided to go with Magic because he'd be splitting the duties between himself, MJ & LBJ.

Magic(Sets the table, can play any position)
Micheal(Killer)
Larry(Leave him, he sticks it in your eye, play him, he finds the open man)
LBJ(Unstoppable)
Hakeem(Do everything post player)

PG: Magic (simply as a distributor)
SG: Jordan (first option)
SF: Bird (a jack-of-all-trades player, third scorer)
PF: Rodman (okay, a dubious choice with Duncan and Barkley on the board, but the best man-to-man defender and rebounder I've ever seen)
C: Hakeem (better shotblocker than Shaq, plus more versatile, second scorer)

Stockton
Jordan
Sam Mitchell
Dirk Nowitzki
Shaq pre-Heat.
My name is Taiyab, and I realize there is an intra-team conflict at the Point Guard spot.

my all-european lineup

PG: Tony Parker
SG: Drazen Petrovic
SF: Predrag Stojakovic
PF: Dirk Nowitzki
C: Arvydas Sabonis

all-international

same thing, but PG: Steve Nash and arguably C: Yao Ming. but Sabonis was an absolute monster and would have been a top 10 center of all-time if he played his entire career in the NBA.

PG - Chris Paul (he will be the best soon)
SG - Kobe Bryant (Jordan who?)
SF - Lebron James ( no brainer imho)
PF - Shawn Kemp (before he did too much crack)
C - Shaquille O'Neal (before he got 90 in a 30 year old body)

If you take the best years of Shawn Kemp's career and pick and choose statistical categories, you get this

20.5 ppg (98-99)
11.4 rpg (95-96)
2.6 apg (93-94)
1.8 spg (93-94)
2.1 bpg (93-94)

In Tim Duncan's rookie season, he bettered all those numbers except the steals.

He then bettered all those numbers, except steals, for each of the next 6 seasons.

So unless you think steals are an exceptionally important statistical category, I cannot imagine how you could pick Kemp over Duncan.

Probably not the best players, but top 2 teams I'de like to see constructed.

Slow defensive half court team

PG-Stockton
SG-Jordon
SF-Pippen (not the best but he fits)
PF-Duncan
C- Shaq

Up tempo, athetic

PG-Magic
Sg-Jordan
SF-Larry Bird/ Lebron
PF-KG
C-Wilt

How are people putting anyone but Wilt at C?

PG - Magic Johnson*
SG - Michael Jordan
SF - Larry Bird**
PF - Kareem
C - Wilt Chamberlain

* = or Stockton, very close IMO.
** = or LeBron, as much as I love some of the other greats.

Can't argue with this one. That's a disgusting collection of defence and offence.
