Post#1 » by MartyConlonOnTheRun » Sun Jan 27, 2008 6:44 am

I have a chance to interview Caron Butler tomorrow?

Are there any questions that would be good and unique to ask?
Thanks

Well, he worked on his outside shot over the last summer and it seems to have really paid off.

CB keeps getting better each year. So...

How about asking him, what do you think you are going to add to your game over the next summer.

Favorite UConn player not in the NBA. Ever talk to Khalid El-Amin? (Playing overseas). If CB3 wasn't in the NBA would he have gone to Europe to ball?

Workout regimen he used to drop 10 pounds and build stamina. Most important muscle group for NBA ballers.

Nick Young seems to invite rookie hazing, can't keep his mouth shut to save his life. Was Caron ever hazed coming into the league? As a freshman at UConn?

Locker room: Who can rap, rhyme, sing, dance. Who thinks they can and definitely can't.

Dominic McGuire came on strong in summer league, and you referred to his practice skills as reminding you of 'a young Caron'. He hasn't yet been able to show the same confidence and defensive swagger he flashed early on. Caron has improved his game every year he's been in the league. What one skill, workout regimen, etc. does DMac need to do to improve his game. What would you teach him first.

Does CB3 read any of his own press or online comments, message boards etc? Does he post? Do any team members? Who does. Who reads the boards but acts like they don't. And which board.

Caron claims he doesn't box like AD did over the summer because he doesn't playfight. Ever get his tail whipped as a kid? Last fight he lost.

CB3 is known for giving bikes to kids. Does he have a bike? What kind. Ever ride locally, any good rides in the area?

How often does he check in with his BK franchises. Surprise visits just to make sure they running it right. Does he know how to run the fryer, work the shake machine, show 'em how it's done?

Soundtrack to get fired up for games or workout.

How he proposed to his wife.

Was he with his wife when his baby girl was delivered or did he wimp out, pass out, faint, wait in the waiting room. What about the other players with their babies.

Just a few ideas...

I'd be interested in hearing his "Cliff notes" synopsis of how Randy Ayers' defensive scheme/philosophy differs from Bill Berry's schemes. And to what, specifically, Caron attributes the team's defensive impovements.

I'd also like to know if Caron spends much time with Gilbert off the court and whether he's had the chance to speak with him about his true motivations for opting out next year. Any insights he could provide regarding Gil's mindset would be great.

What's the significance of that crazy skull tattoo he has on his upper arm?

Were there any players he was intimidated by, or in awe of, when he first joined the league?

How much contact does he have with former Bullet stars (E. Hayes, Wes, Kenny Green)? Do they ever come around and offer encouragement or advice?

What does he see himself doing after life in the NBA?

I really am curious to know why he ditched the headband this year. He rocked it all last year, and at the beginning of this season. I can

Ask him how he likes losing games, because he has an idiot coach who insists on playing small-ball and .giving terrible defenders (Etan and Darius) so much PT at the 5 while BTH and AB (and even OP) rot on the bench

Thanks, great interview...

I love this answer:
They call you "Tough Juice'' because of your toughness. Do you like that nickname? And has it ever caused friction with a teammate?

Nice job with the interview. I like the comparison between GA, Wade, and Kobe. If Ga wants to be the best, he will have to win some championships.

I can't remember the guy he said. I'm not a big UCONN fan and didnt hear his name clearly. It was something brown (tony? malik?)

He said stevenson was the best rapper. then I asked who thinks hes great but isnt and said stevenson again. He said he raps the most but thinks he is the greatest
