i see otis resigning evans and dooling, and maybe finding a cheap pg...or a trade would prolly be the best bet at getting a quality sg or pg

IMO, our 2-guard rotation is fine. Evans has been doing good ever since he started. And Bogans can still get you double-digits. And Redick is instant offense. We need a PG!

I guarantee Calderon signs for the MLE

Look this is a buyers market this summer.

Toronto already has SO much money invested in TJ ford.

Only 1 team has the money to throw around this offseason.

Many players will accept the MLE.

If we got Calderon this team would be championship caliber. But it's not going to happen. Most likely Colangelo is gonna try and shop Ford to keep Calderon

i agree its fine right now, but we really need to do something with bogans, im tired of seeing him make stupid plays and getting beat constantly on defense, today stan almost pulled his hair out and i thought he was gonna kick bogans A$$..i mean we are up by three, pierce drives to the lane and bogans leaves his man, for what? and bam 3 for allen..stan jumped and kicked his leg as allen shot, cause he knew bogans didnt play it right,again..

i agree we need a PG.

Calderon is a dream. so is the idea we'll get someone good through trade. it'll be a case of the best we can get for the MLE.

Duhon anybody? i totally would.

Based on what's available, a SG.
(I don't think Calderon is a viable option with what we can offer, though I'd LOVE him at PG here.)
This is why trading for Andre Miller now makes a lot of sense. A player like Maggette could conceivably be had for the MLE in the off-season if he decides he wants to play for a contender and we'd get Battie back, perhaps Vasquez too, or draft a PF.

anybody not named howard for chris paul. D12 + CP = multiple championships in O-town.

ok, in a more realistic scenario, i'd agree that calderon would be an awesome pick up. if not, then mike bibby. do we have anything the kings would want for bibby?

in any case, i agree with most of you guys in here that we definitely need a PG rather than a 2. i'm tired of seeing the opposing team's PG driving freely to the basket at will of late. 'meer and carlos cannot do anything defensively against their man assignment. keyon can play some defense but he's no true pg, he cannot set up for any body.

I noticed that as well. There is only going to be a team or two this offseason that is going to be way under the cap. Maybe a few more if they make trades.

As long as we ship Dooling & Arroyo, I could care less who we get honestly.

We need a PG, SG & PF. In that order.

The Magic's greatest starting problem is at SG. I fail to understand why so many here cannot accept the Magic with an average PG.

The Magic do not have an average SG on their roster. In particular, defense at the wing has been quite suspect in the last 20 games.

I expect Atlanta to do a fair amount of maneuvering to clear space for Jose. They'll almost certainly renounce Childress. I could see them giving Calderon a very big qualifying offer, and Toronto matching it almost immediately.

Heres my list...

1. Gotta go after Calderon, but honestly theres no way he is going to sign for the mid level. I would LOVE to see him in a Magic uniform, even though his defense is iffy.

2. Maggette for the MLE, I could actually see this one happening. He has hinted before in the past about his desire to play in Orlando again, he would be a huge upgrade at the 2.

3. I doubt ATL signs Childress, he is a very solid player and defender. His jumper isn't too pretty but the results are good.

if we could get calderon as a free agent we could trade our expiring s for a sg or pf calderon would be a dream come true but if he becomes unattainable and they do shop ford we could trade expirings and more for him or go for beno udrih

The guy the Magic should go after this offseason is Dimitrius Diamantidis. He is a 6'5'' PG who can also play SG. He is a big PG who we can play at either guard position. He is a floor general who is a very good defender. I feel he can fix pretty much all our backcourt problems in one fell swoop. And all for no more than the MLE. He would allow Jameer to play off the ball, he would make up for JJ's lack of height and defense. He is the perfect fit.

Our order of need is SG, PG, PF. Like drsd said, its ok to have an average pg with upside, rather than have backups start at sg for us. We have needed a sg ever since Tmac left. Its time to get our full time starter, thats if something doesn't happen by the trade deadline. PG is something we can use our draft pick on. Maybe use JJ to move up and get Bayless or Collison. And PF will be solved very quickly next year with Battie coming back, Vazquez possibly coming over, Cook coming on, and Shard able to play significant minutes there as well.

I like the idea of getting Maggette with the mle. Things are not good in L.A. right now. He may leave a couple million for one season on the table to come to a winner for a long term deal, same may go for Artest, either would be fine by me.

Calderon is not signing for MLE. There talking 10 million a year and some think he is the number 1 free agent on the Market now with his play.
