Trade between black/white teams
JJ for Martell.
Why JJ should play with the starters:
If we are going to make a playoff run, our best players should be getting the most minutes. Until JJ proves that he cannot handle playing 30, we should be taking advantage of the #1 3 point shooter in the league as much as possible. With LA seeming hitting a wall lately, this unit could use a boost.
Why Martell for the second unit:
Except for a few games, he really has not stood out. Playing with the second unit may be the change that he needs for him to progress. Would be interested to see how he responds without Roy on the floor.

Haha, I also thought that you meant Jack. I think Nate has to start Martell because Jones has become an essential piece to our bench and as Farzi said, Martell's confidence is a definitely concern and taking him off of the bench may mess up what he has. Starting Jones is a decent idea but I'd personally stick with Martell.

well, first of all the first JJ that came to my mind was jack...
but i was thinking just a minute ago if the blazers needed some kind of new roster movement, some minor tweaking to see if things get better and martell seems to be the odd man out.
he's been in a really long slump and no offense but he seems to have no impact as he should.
i believe that he's in the starting lineup because jones and outlaw represent a better production from the bench, so i say send martell down so he earns his minutes.
but considering his "attitude" issues that were out during summer i don't know how good or bad this would be for him.

I think the better swap, right now, would be Frye for LMA. I think LMA would be pretty good running with the second unit, him and Sergio might look good together, whereas Frye seems to fit well with the first unit. Overall, I am fine with where guys are, because ultimately, LMA is our PF, so just let him get his lumps, but I can see a move like that working wonders.

I also thought you meant Jack, which of course meant you were off your meds.......I really don't care about who starts, but I would like to see a mix of the black and white teams, such as........
Sergio with Roy
Brandon, Martell and Jones in at the same time
I think these could help cause a change of pace, the league is getting to know the Blazers and it is getting tougher to get good shots up

But hes hitting those shots. Hes playing extremely well and I dont think theres any way that he stays on the bench beyond this season if he continues playing this well, unless Nate really feels that the white unit wont be able to score very well. But with rudy coming in I dont think it will be a problem with Rudy, Jones, Frye, and possibly Jack

I like the way Jones fits in with the second unit. He has been getting the minutes, too, lately. The past four games Jones has played 32,30,25,29 while Martell has played 16,18,23,24. I'd like to see them out there together with Brandon running the point more often, especially if neither Jack nor Blake (or Sergio) is having a good game.

AKBlazerFan wrote:I love outlaw coming off the bench honestly. I like it when outlaw is the focal point of the offense. I would hate for him to chuck up 20 ft shots with Roy/Aldridge/Webster out there. On the second unit i dont mind, ahah.
Seems to me Outlaw has played his best--by far--in the fourth quarter, court time he shares with Roy and Aldridge.
