Could be. Contracts don't work (not even close really), but that could be fixed by throwing in Hughes or Snow + Marshall.
I don't see why Cleveland would really want Kidd though. Yes, they need a PG, and yes, he'd make them better, but LeBron is more than capable of handling the ball and creating for himself and his teammates. They would be better off going after Bibby IMO. He can score, create, and spread the floor. And he'd cost less, both in terms of dollars, and assets used to aquire him. And at this point in their careers, I'm not sure he's all that much worse than Kidd defensively.
Dallas should be the ones making a move for Kidd. The Lakers could use him too, but they are in a similar situation with Kobe as the Cavs are with LeBron. They won't be trading Bynum, and I'm not convinced that trading Odom + others in a deal for Kidd would make them a whole lot better.
Maybe the Lakers or Cavs could pick up Jason Terry as part of a deal that sends Kidd to Dallas.

Dallas absolutely makes the most sense. Would be interesting to see a Dallas vs Phoenix matchup come playoff time if Kidd was manning the helm for the Mavs.
People are underestimating Jason Kidd. He may be getting on in years, but he is still very much an All-Star. He's up there in assists, and leads the league in triple-doubles.

They'd do that faster than you can say Vince Carter. But we'd have to send out another $14 million in contracts for Kidd, and given his age, attitude, future salary and decrepit body, I simply wouldn't do it.

Not that I think it would work but if Kidd came over here(he won't) I'd say he'd play alongside Calderon. Defensively it works (Kidd covers SGs all the time, he's one of the biggests points in the league) and could work with two amazing passers/handlers on offence. Way too risky and doesn't really make sense, but they'd have a better chance at seeing the floor at the same time than TJ & Jose.

Why would we be interested in every player that becomes available?! PG is our strongest position. We need a short term backup PG not a hall fame starter with a massive contract. Besides, why gut our assets to pad a position we are strong in. Might I suggest a bit more thought before starting a thread. Sorry, but it had to be said.

A deal of Snow,Marshall,Gooden and Gibson works. I don't think NJ would take Hughes' horrible contract though.
As for the Lakers I agree with you that they are definitely not trading Bynum nor Odom so they are out of the picture unless a 3rd team is involved. Mavs simply don't have the contracts to make it work because they will not give away both Harris AND Terry and the Nets will not take Dampier with his albatross.
The more I see it, the more it's obvious to me that it has to be a multiple-team trade unless the Cavs are involved.

Only if BC has a nervous breakdown.
That's just what the Raps need, trade one of their 20-something PGs for a 35-yr old PG making a CAP KILLING 21 mil. Ouch.
I bet at this point or their careers, there are more teams in da league that would want Jose over JK.

Dallas Mavericks guard Devin Harris will miss at least 2-3 weeks with a bone bruise on his left ankle.
Harris was injured when he landed awkwardly on a hard drive to the basket early in the fourth quarter of a 90-85 victory against Denver on Sunday. He didn't travel for Dallas' game Monday at Memphis.
An MRI performed Monday showed no additional damage to the ankle.
In his first year as the full-time starter at point guard, Harris is averaging career highs of 14.4 points and 5.3 assists per game. He's shooting 48 percent from the field, including a career-best 36 percent from 3-point range.
Mavs might want to make a deal quickly now before they lose too much ground.
