The Ultimate Hypothetical...
Imagine that The Dream Team is placed in todays NBA. (The East)
The catch: They can only play 4 players at a time until the last 2 minutes when they go to the traditional 5. How far would they go?
Roster
C: Patrick Ewing of the New York Knicks
PF:Scottie Pippen of the Chicago Bulls
SF:Larry Bird of the Boston Celtics
SG:Michael Jordan of the Chicago Bulls
PG:Magic Johnson of the Los Angeles Lakers
Bench:
Karl Malone of the Utah Jazz
David Robinson of the San Antonio Spurs
Christian Laettner of Duke University
Chris Mullin of the Golden State Warriors
Charles Barkley of the Phoenix Suns
Clyde Drexler of the Portland Trail Blazers
John Stockton of the Utah Jazz

they'd win some. why the hell is laettner on there. c'mon laettner? laettner?
against teams with good ball movement they'd be crushed. the spurs would beat them by 50.

They would be lucky to make the playoffs. This is the NBA we're talking about here. Coaches and teams would just exploit the open areas and use that extra man they have as a major advantage. Not to mention how tiring the Dream Team would get playing 4 on 5 pretty much every game. By the time they'll be able to play 5 on 5 the game will likely be over.

are people actually voting for them to make the playoffs?
Defensively, as long as the coach is half-smart, someone will always be open, especially if the team is a good passing team. They'd be the worst defensive team in the league, bar none.
Offensively, they would have to rely on jumpshots considering the one extra player can pack the lane all day, play the passing lanes and basically wreck terror on defense.

Are you serious dude? Have you ever played organized basketball in your life?
Not only is it going to tire them out extremely fast when teams just keep rotating but they won't be able to defend anyone from scoring. I don't care who they are, they are still playing against professional basketball players who usually never misses when leaved wide open.
