Basti- you ever heard of The Refused? Amazing band from Sweeden. A little Hardcore, kind of like RATM. They're broke up now though.
Other Sweedish bands i've listened to: Hives (first album), The Sounds, Peter Bjorn and John, The International Noise Conspiracy (includes some members of the Refused).
As far as Canadian bands- I like The Constantines (i think they're from canada), Malajube (my favorite album of the past year), Death From Above '79 (now broken up)

malajube is from canada? well I thought they were french/british/irish... wow...
I saw the sounds live and I really liked them (they have a cocky attitude on stage just as rock'n'roll is meant to be
) but I failed to buy a record by the sounds so far. I know a few song from peter, bj-

I'm not that much into the 80's stuff. I really have a dislike to the 80's and I dunno why.
after watching the latest quentin tarantino movie (death proof) I bought the soundtrack and I started listening to some 70's music. that's really cool IMO
Tarantino has the best sound tracks. Pick up the Pulp Fiction one.
I also agree about the 70's music. Well and 60's too. Check out my favorites on youtube, my username is calrissianenrichment. I tried to add a bunch more yesterday but it didn't work..
I also love Tom Petty and the Flaming Lips.

Anybody listen to Tapes n' Tapes, Hockey Night, or The Plastic Constellations?
I never listen to local music or hunt it out, but I caught wind of a local band in Mpls; "A Night in the Box" and I was blown away. I think if I made a top 10 albums list I'd have to put their album in there. Best 10 bucks I ever spend

I'm not really up on a lot of the new bands, but in that genre I like Velvet Revolver, The Killers, and Robert Randolph & the Family Band.
For classic rock love Led Zeppelin, Steely Dan, The Kinks, and the Clash. Have gotten heavy into The Band, which falls somewhat in that category.
Old school funk like Earth Wind and Fire and Confunkshun.
Love the old blues like John Lee Hooker, BB King, and Buddy Guy (who I met at his restaurant in Chicago)
Like some of the old school rap like Sugar Hill Gang, Grand Master Flash and the Furious Five, Run DMS, some NWA and Public Enemy.
Wife's into country, but the only ones I can really listen to are Johnny Cash, Toby Keith, and Alabama.
Love the old hair metal: Great White, Whitesnake, Def Leppard, Dokken, Cinderella, and all of those.
Used to be big in Metallica, even saw them back in 1992. But after their first 4-5 albums my interest dwindled.
