in addition, Arroyo is a better shooter than Damon, no question, but Damon is a vet and can get to the basket much better than Arroyo...

Out of the teams that he might pick ahead of us, Spurs, Celts, Suns, we're the only ones that could give him a chance at starting though, that could still be important to him.

firstly he's not even looking for starting minutes and secondly he's not going to get a starting nod on any teams outside of maybe Denver, Miami and possibly Dallas right now...he wants to play for a team not located in Minnesota, Memphis, Seattle, ATL, LAL and Miami...

Boston is in love with Rondo, I don't see Damon starting over him. With Jameer hurt, and maybe worse than we thought, he could easily slide into the starting pg slot here. He's clearly better than Arroyo and Dooling, which ever one stays that is. At least we know that Otis is scheming. It would be a waste if we didn't take advantage of our expiring contracts.

Toronto is set at PG with Calderon, he has been tearing it up. They just need a backup.

Depends if he's chasing rings or if he's looking to be a full-time contributor.

Good point, because if it was all about playing time, he can get that in Memphis. But to be a starter AND go to the playoffs, has a special little ring to it I would think. It also depends on who he want to play with the most, and who he's closer with. Who knows, he might be best buds with KG or something and its already a done deal. The main thing for me is that it signals that Otis is looking to improve our roster before the deadline. If not this, then possibly something better down the road.

I would love Damon here over Arroyo.
11/18/2017 - I have officially disowned Nikola Vucevic and branded him a loser.

- Skal Labissiere was my guy in 2016 pre-trade. Whoops, but I still believe.
- Malik Monk was my guy in 2017. Whoops(?)
- Mo Bamba was my guy in 2018. TBD.

Exactly. He's not moving ahead of Parker, Nash, Rondo, or Calderon. Toronto was the only remote possibility because they do need another pg badly enough to promise him significant minutes, possibly starting. Boston has proven that he's not really needed, hence the lukewarm response from them. And I guess he would look good on the benches of Phoenix or S.A., if its a ring you want. Choose carefully however, there is only one champion. If we have jumped in like the article says, we should have a very good opportunity for him.

I don't think we're gonna get him. But this is good news regardless (IF TRUE!) Espn has been known to make-up alot of ****. But if true, this means Otis isn't sitting on his ass.

Damon is too old and streaky shooter. But he is a huge upgrade from Arroyo. I'd rather dream of a Kidd trade ;-)

That's what I was thinking, also.

Already have Damon and his name is Jameer. If this would happen its the same kind of laterial move that we have seen in the past. Damon provides no new skill set. Is relatively just an older version of Jameer. Even if you trade Dooling or Arroyo is this team really in need of another Jameer like PG. Otis will have to give up something to upgrade a position at some point.

I would commit suicide if this were to happen.

veteran PG's are nice to have in the playoffs if you need FT's...

It's just some proof the team is not satisfied with the PG situation. perhaps a sign of things to come?

I think if you put McGee back then, he would get those blocks just as easily as Russell did. Russell's athleticism was well ahead of the players of his time, and that's about it.

i don't like it. He's old and washed up, and seems to always be hurt. Not the answer, not worth changing the team for. Also, what happens when Jameer comes back?

Its not a matter of changing our team for him specifically. Your right, he's not worth that. Its more about him filling a roster spot to bolster our pg rotation because we may use our expiring contracts before the deadline. Remember that two of our expiring contracts are our second and third string pg's. If we trade them away, we are going to need another point, either getting one back in the trade or off of waivers. Thats what most of us are seeing with this reported rumor.

Pop sat Parker tonight because of bone spurs in a heel and said they have been getting progressively worse. Spurs are struggling against Seattle with Vaughn as the starter. They are using Manu as the backup. San Antonio could give Damon some decent time for some time.

Though Dooling is top 20 in free-throw percentage.

Schmitz says on his blog that Otis denies it. What I'm seeing in that ESPN report is that some reporter threw in an extra team on a lark and was incorrect.

i actually meant if you need those FT's in the last few minutes, vet guards usually drive in and draw contact, and sometimes even finish...no matter how veteran our guards are, they never do that...
