CJ contributes

whats the problem? he has enough talent to actually be in the league. hes nba talent, not the best, but enough for the nba.
Lets Go Baron Davis...i dont care what jersey you put on. Lets go.
Big Smooth is focused and ready to handle the centers of the league.
Curry and Ellis will be a top 5 back court this season. 6/25/2010

He has a jumper... complete liability on defense and really can't create his own shot... why does he belong in the league? The ability to hit open jumpers?

Why do people on this board casually dismiss the value of that skill. Teams don't move the ball when guys don't hit open shots and it allows the D to pack it in. If you can't hit open shots you lose.

It's a fundamental, as important as free throws, defensive effort, or shot selection . . . er . . .um . . . whatever.

So....who's looking good as a lotto pick? Later we can have a pool on how soon we get rid of whoever it is we select.

As for Biedrins vs Wright....Biedrins just had a monster game yesterday and Wright has fewer minutes than several round 2 picks.

Over the past season and a half.. Biedrins has been THE top FG% guy in the game....and he's how old? That he's not scoring 15 + despite such efficiency is a case of Nellie limiting his opportunity....then again...Wright has had no opportunity at all.

Best case, Wright is a James Worthy/Richard Jrfferson type, an efficient complimentary player in the right situation. Biedrins already is that much...plus he fills the CENTER spot.....remember folks....We had about a half dozen years when the C was Vic Alexander..Felton Spencer...Adonal Foyle... A lot of GOOD F's passed through town since Nate Thurmond....a dozen perhaps worth note. The Best Center between Nate and Beans? Probably Joe Barry Carroll. How sad is that?
CENSORED... No comment.

He's invisible 90% of the time and a liability 100% of the time... another brilliant move by the braintrust. 12 more minutes of D-League ball... the only positive is that it allows Buke to slide to SF so we can log Barnes at PF, his natural positon

His 2 open jumpers are what saved us against the knicks.

That 2nd Q was a brilliant display of Bakersfield Jam type basketball.

What kind of playoff team says that though? :dontknow:

"Thank God we had <D-Leaguer> to beat the <worst franchise in basketball>"

EDIT: :banghead: Sarcasm detector is on the fritz...

Yeah but they were swishes.

Sometimes the best thing a backup can do is:

Hit wide open looks

Help with bringing the ball up

Make FT's

don't make mistakes while the studs are resting.

Suddenly 45-50 wins isn't enough anymore. We need to be the Spurs and we need to be them right now.

We know that CJ is an adequate scorer. What I want to know now is can he play defense? Let's see him get some minutes against Paul and what he can do. If he can at least slow him down a little, then I'd say we really have something. Right now I'm not totally sold on him (although I realize he's it now and I do prefer him over Thud).

We are 6 deep. Given that, partial season commitments to borderline nba players is the way to go. The alternative is multi-year commitments to has-beens. We've tried that before.

The CJ signing is not a problem - it's a symptom.
