Where is the hope coming from? One game under .500 for January. Yes the have played better, but that is without Redd. But we are also one game out of the 7th spot of the lotto. Rather get a nice pick than get a 4 game sweep from Boston.

Amen. If our dream scenario is winning 38 games and getting crushed by Boston I'd also rather have the much higher pick and have at least a shot at a top 3 pick. This team needs more talent if we're going to be a contender down the road. Drafting 15th and a 1st round beating doesn't get us that talent.

The problem of this team living and dying on Redd's jump shots is a problem which is brought by a wrong approach by the other players on this team and by the coach. There are a lot of selfish players in this league, and everybody want to shoot it all the time, but many of them don't do it because they are in a system. On offense, it seems like we have to improvise at time, which is surely Redd's fault, but majorly a coaching fault. Chemistry and experienced coaches. To me this is what we need to be a good team. If we can't be a good team with a good coach and a good system, with the right system for the players and the right players for the system, trade Redd and all the others. But not now with a bad unexperienced coach unable to structure a serious basketball system.

Gotta love Bogut and his brutal honesty. :D

I would love if somehow we could get a matchup with Orlando in the first round. If they get the 2 seed and we get 7, or somehow we get 6 and they got 3, I think we'd be a touch matchup for them.

Agreed, if Bogut keeps up his play and that means a few more wins, it means he's getting better and better. Yi and Bogut's development are number one priority, even more so than a top draft pick.

I'm not sure 35 wins is possible to make the playoffs just because the schedule evens itself out and the east will play the east moreso. Someone has to win those games.

If the bucks can squeeze out 38 wins I would say they would be in this year. There are a few wildcard teams out there that can spoil everything such as the Nets and Bulls who have been under achieving big time. As they did last year the Nets got hot at the end of the season and basically pushed their way into the playoffs in the last 2-3weeks of the year.
Formula to win in NBA
1 All star gets you 6-9th seed in conf, 1rst round playoff loss
2 All stars gets you to second round of playoffs
3 All stars gets you to Finals /Champs

Also playoffs vs. lottery has other effects now that we don't totally know about. Is it as clear cut as Harris's job depending on making or missing? Edit: What does a Redd or whoever trade depend on, too?

I'm not excited about the track records of anyone else out there, or for coaches either if that comes into it. But if Harris is truly pretty negative or deceptive with the people he works with, I'm all for a change in spite of any strengths as a guard and cheap 2nd big man scout. At least there'd be a small chance we could get some positive constructive mgmt in there.

But that chance is so small... that lotteries aren't even going to take us to the top without a handful of other things falling into place. So I can't condone missing the playoffs. Bogut needs to get a couple good playoff games in this year and it'd probably help Yi too. I don't think they'll make it though.

Two years ago I couldn't believe how cheap playoff tickets were so I drove from Madison and ended up catching the one good win from the top back row. And then we had last year, so I can't argue the playoffs would definitely help. But I was so stunned listening to that lottery, I can't do a 5-month buildup to that. And looking back all we needed was our #3 slot.

Without any trades, I could see this team being in it near the end based on the numbers and then falling apart one way or another.
