Im not bashing this pick but why do you think he deserves it over Pierce? Pierce has him beat nearly across the board, defends the other teams best wing player and does it for a better team. I think he deserves to be the Celts 2nd all star more than Hedo deserves to be the Magics.

No doubt Hedo has been nasty this year though.

I don't ever recall Andre Miller shooting 50/40/90 from the field, from 3, and from the line respectively. Calderon is also having an off the charts season in terms of taking care of the ball, and he has been one the most efficient PGs in the entire NBA so far. His stats don't do him justice since he started the year on the bench. He's averaging 14/4/10 as a starter for a winning team in the East. He has to be considered and it wouldn't shock me at all if he made it, coaches know how good he is.

Eastern Conference

Guards: Billups, Calderon.

Forwards: Butler, Pierce.

C: Bosh

Wild Cards: Jamison, Hamilton.

Thoughts: I like what Gerald Wallace is doing, but I think Hamilton will get in because the Pistons deserve two players in the game.

Western Conference:

Guards: Paul, Nash.

Forwards: Nowitzki, Boozer.

C: Amare

Wild Cards: Baron Davis and David West.

Thoughts: David West was a hard slight here, he's playing great ball this season while the Hornets are leading the West. They deserve two all-stars as much as any other team in the league, couple that with the game also being in New Orleans this year, everything points to West making his first all-star appearance. But, Carlos Boozer stands in his way, you can't snub Boozer, he's playing like a monster this season. 20/10 with a ludicrous percentage from the field. He has to be in there.

Edit: On second thought, I think I'd put West in over Roy as a wild card. Roy is still a sophomore and needs to pay his dues, whens the last time you saw a second year player in the all-star game (excluding LeBron)? No knock on Roy, he's having a great year, but West is playing on the better team and is also putting up great numbers.

I don't think Hamilton is an all-star. Both Gerald and JRich deserve it more than he does this season.

Hedo
Jamison

??? Considering the injuries the Raptors have faced and considering they have had the 3rd toughest schedule in the NBA so far, I think they've done pretty well for themselves. Now the schedule gets easier, and Ford will come back and the Raptors should make a run at 50 wins. Calderon has had to play huge minutes because of our lack of another capable PG and he's done a great job.

I am hoping Roy makes it. I agree with most picks, but i am suprised G Wallace isnt getting more love. The dude has been an absolute beast the last month or so.

And if these picks are made by coaches (which i think they are), i think Roy has a better than average chance.

I'll go with:

Kidd/Billups
Wade/Pierce
Bron/Butler/Wallace
KG/Jamison
Dwight/Bosh

Last spot goes to Redd or Johnson

Iverson/Nash/Paul
Kobe/BDavis
Melo/Dirk
Duncan/Boozer
Yao/Amare

Last spot should be Brandon Roy or Deron Williams(i dont care how many PGs the West has, DWill deserves to be there)

Snubs: Josh Howard, Tyson Chandler. Marcus Camby, Ginobili, David West

I think West wins this one easily again... better overall roster... There are so many guys in the west that got snubbed that would have easily made the game in the east IMO

I hope Baron doesn't make it. I love watching him play with a chip on his shoulder.
