Gotcha.
Sounds good to me - not knowing about contract status of the players.

yea, it's nothing spectacular...i think it's pretty good for NJ, it helps them achieve what they want, Tinsley is a little pricey, but not really enough to hinder NJ from rebuilding IMO...Kidd/Granger/JO/Dunleavy/Ike pretty solid group of players, JO is really out of form, but if he's not leaving, help him out?
Orlando is still thin at the 3 since we'd have to keep shard at the 4
Nelson/Damon/DA - all small guards, but 2 vets, and a lot of speed
Evans/Bogans/Daniels - that's D & enough scoring to keep it close
Hedo/
Shard/Foster - Good 1-2 punch of scoring and rebounding
Dwight/Foyle
however, once Battie comes back (playoffs), not too shabby
Nelson/Damon/DA
Evans/Bogans/Daniels
Shard/Hedo
Battie/Foster/Cook
Dwight/Foyle

well im all for kidd but jameer is going nowhere, thats dwights boy and hell fight for him to stay, and dwight is boss...lol
but i think we could get kidd for some of our expirings and jj and maybe a pick or something, i think redick could make the deal sweeter for NJ because hes a 3 point threat and is an unknown right now

I don't see how some of you guys are against this trade, basically we are giving up garbage to get one of the best point guards to ever play in the league. ANOTHER huge bonus to this is he is signed for 2 years, it's not like we will be strapped with his contract for years.
The only problem I see are, 1. we will be wayy over the cap, I don't know if ownership is down with that. 2. Will Kidd demand a extension, if he does then I say Veto this deal. Isn't the extension the whole reason why he is all pissed now?

and even though JJ is not a factor in the rotation, he's still in the rotation...so you give up 4 guys we do use, one guy we dont and you end up with 1 guy...and your left with Evans at the 2, and Evans alone...and the notion that Turkoglu is going to step in and answer prayers at the 2 spot is absurd, but say he did, are you going to start Cook now? because you're not starting Foyle and Dwight together, no way not how...unless something else is lined up, this deal makes no sense for Orlando...
give up depth, energy, what little defense we have on guards for a 35 year old player we might get lucky and get 2-3 seasons out of, no to mention we'll have 3 max deals, Jameer and we'll still be worrying about depth and a PF, and the MLE and VLE wont cover all our needs...
you have to ask yourself, do you want to be the Spurs or the Miami Heat?
and you have to ask yourself.... would the Spurs consider Bogans, Arroyo, JJ and Dooling 'depth'? maybe one or two of them, but not all of them.
give me one consistent, guaranteed star player in the backcourt over Bogan's and Arroyo's inconsistency and JJ's DNP's ANY DAY. Dooling, well, hurts to lose him but look at the upgrade we get.
those guys aren't depth by any stretch of the imagination. there's a reason why everyone thinks we need to upgrade our backcourt so badly, and it's not because those guys are good.
i say the deal's unlikely because of the sheer number of players we give up, but i still think we'd be a lot better off for it.

Bingo...Many people conveniently forget that Kidd is looking for an extension. At first, it was one year. Now some reports have him demanding a 2-year extension, which would make him 38 when he starts the last year at about $24 million or more. I think J.Kidd is a great point guard, but I don't see this happening, guys. There are a lot of reasonable reasons not to make the deal.
