That's an interesting thought and I wonder how many on this board
would trade Roy/LA to Seattle for Durant/Green?

I know I wouldn't, but my comment was more about how skilled the drafting was, not a player comparison.

Well, to be fair atleast John Nash didn't take three project centers in the first round in a row.. Robert Swift, Saer Sene, who is the last one? hmm

No, in fact I wouldn't trade Roy for BOTH of them.

Depending on what your team needed, Roy for Durant would be a pretty even trade in a year or two. Durant has the ability to put up McGrady numbers, while Roy is far more team focused. For Portland, Roy is the better fit, but I could see teams that don't have the balanced offensive attack that we do who would pull the trigger and send Roy out. After all, Durant could be a Garnett-type contributor, and even if he helps teams not make the playoffs like Garnett did there are GMs that would still go that direction just to sell the tickets.

The sonics really, more than anything, need a solid center. Obviously Oden would have been a nice piece for the future. Still, a pg like rose or Mayo could help. I think they'll be competition for the future, but the next few years are going to be rougher than it's been lately (which is bad!)

I know they have drafted centers for like the past few seasons, but I don't know if any of them are worth a lick. Sene is looking okay in d league, but not that good. Swift has some skill but got hurt.

Sonics are going into the part of the rebuilding phase that's very ugly. Blazers fans are well past it, but dealt with it; so will sonic fans.

The big problem for the Sonics in this draft is that they could really use a much better big man than they have, but the ones available are more marginally better than hugely better. Hibbert or the other guys that people have been talking about aren't even in the same league prospect-wise as Andrew Bogut was.
